Well, I've recently played Dead or Alive 3 with a friend, and I liked it. I'm thinking of buying a fighting game myself, but I'm wondering which one to buy. I've also played Tekken 4, and I though that was better.
Now, I'm asking, which ones do you like best? There might be other series that I left out of the poll, so feel free to tell me and I'll add it.

Where's Street Fighter? I loved those games. Out of the selection, I pick Dead or Alive out of fandom and as a pervert, but Street Fighter is my favorite.

DoA is not so bad, try Rumble Roses XXX. That makes you a complete freak.
I'd say X-Men: Children of the Atom. To bad it can't work on my comp anymore. It's too old :P
And yes, I still have Street Fighter I, II and a few more I can't seem to find. I had a collection!

k, I'll add X-Men and Street fighter, but how do you edit a poll?
Out of those, I'd say Soul Caliber. Even the cheesier characters can be beaten. They're all pretty good though. I've always loved Mortal Kombat. I know it's complete crap, but it's the only complete crap that lets you rip heads off for giggles.

I love tekken, if only because they have Yoshimitsu. His moves are so kick ass. he can run a sword through himself, so he can nail his enemy if he/she's standing behind him, if not, he's dead. :D

Yoshis been in Soul Calibur for...
I like Soul Calibur because unlike most other games, it's not about combos but countering. If your opponent uses a slower wide attack, use a faster tall attack. If he's using tall attacks, strafe him. If he's strafing, you use wide attacks.
Unfortunately, my friends don't play SC like they used to and I only have SC2 on the cube. Fighting games demand human opponents, which I can't seem to possess.
I like SSBM for its easy-to-learn interface, but balance is completely flawed.

Oh...crap, so we need a mod to edit a poll? Damnit...
Maybe we should just screw that poll, there are so many games out there...

No really, you need more options, all that you've listed are 3-d fighting games o_O
What happened to King of Fighters, Street Fighter and Virtua Fighter?
The best...probably Tekken, Yoshimitsu's not bad, I can kill him by being cheap with Jin, LASER CANNON/SCRAPER/ANNIHILATOR FTW

Mortal Kombat is definitely my favourite series. Ah, such faced paced fighting and brutality. Deception was pure thrill from start to finish, and Armageddon will no doubt be even better. 60 fighters is no joke.

Soul Calibur 3 is the best fighting game in my opinion. I kick ass as Raphael. All the characters are balanced (although sometimes it can feel like the females (who are all really fast but weak, for somereason) are quite imbalanced, especially against the slower characters). The only character who is actually bad would have to be Nightmare. He's too slow and he does too little damage.

I think in Dead or Alive, on lower skill levels, Kasumi and Ayane can own everone with their long and fast kicks, that still do pretty reasonable damage.
Once you get the hang of counter attacks and grabs and shit, you can put an end to that, but if you're playing it at a party with people that haven't played before, they own too hard.
I think Bass is a piece of shit in Dead r Alive, but it always cracks me up when he does his body slams.
