I was just wondering if im the only SSBM fan at warboards, (Obviously its on gamecube)
but if i am not the only fan, then........

What do you think about Brawl,
Or do you beleive the toad rumor?
and ne things else about ssbm or ssbb

I'm a fan. I don't have a GC, but I'm a fan of the game. It's a nice, simple game on the surface.

Then you realise how frickin competitive/crazy it can get.

And, for the next one...
Solid Snake...ftw

Zaeyel
06-14-2006, 3:01 PM
Heh, yeah snakes in it which seems REALLY not possible, snake..... I just don't think hes fits in. Anyway, do you have any character preferences for SSBB?
I'd love to see goron in it :D, from the n64 Zelda. Eh, itd be cool if sonic was in it, toad would be cool too.
Itd be cool if they made giga bowser playable, or even the master hand. (Or crazy hand)

What would be the coolest 2 characters to add, would be Goron and Koopa Troopa (Like the one you race in n64 mario world, maybe the penguin could be in ssbb... lol.)

Super smash bros rocks. I can't wait for Brawl. As for toad, I havent seen any proof that it exists. Hope Brawl is as good a Melee, or better.

Heh, yeah snakes in it which seems REALLY not possible, snake..... I just don't think hes fits in.

Of course, part of it for me is the novelty value. I think Snake is a character open to being poked fun at.

I mean, look at Snake vs Monkey and Mesai Gear on MGS3 and Ape Escape 3 respectively.

Also, it'll give me a change from using Samus all the time. Samus, Zero-suit Samus and Snake!
3 choices ftw!

EDIT: Anyone reckon to there being a sub-plot love affair between Samus and Snake? I think that'd be funny.

Zaeyel
06-14-2006, 3:04 PM
Ya, but have you heard the characters they have confirmed in it?
Wario
Snake
Samus / Suitless Samus
Metaman
(I think...)

EDIT: Aha Zero Suit samus is the correct name lol, and you are correct lol

I dont think they should make the Samus Arans two characters, she should just have a costume that makes here have no suit...

so what you guys think, Goron and Koopa Troopa in SSBB

Ktan
06-14-2006, 3:06 PM
Are you implying they are good or bad though?

Zaeyel
06-14-2006, 3:08 PM
Eh, ? What you mean?

EDIT: I think its great Idea, I just dont see why lol. Ne way I here Zero suit samus will have some cool moves!

Koopa Troopa and Goron what ya think!!!???

EDIT2 LOL:

I just noticed your little paragraph you added, snake and samus, damn thats a little odd to do exspecially in ssb ! Woah lol thatd kinda throw me off my feet if that happened.

Is there a confirmed price for the Wii isnt it 250$ ???

Cmon respond to what I really want you to respond to
Goron and Koopa Troopa, think they should be in, and if so or not what attacks should they have / SHIELD.

Ktan
06-14-2006, 3:17 PM
Koopa Troopas would be cool.
I liked Adventure mode on Melee, that was really cool.

Me and my friends are ultra-competitive when it comes to SSBM.

I use Marth, Ness, Luigi (gogo running girly slaps!) and Peach.

BTW, Peach > Jigglypuff. Every time.

...Metaman...

No. He's Metaknight. MetaKNIGHT!

And for more proof:

The link that is about one or two months old that everybody's seen a millions time that is brought up just for the specific reason to tell a person Kirby's Rival is named Metaknight. (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2426522443631028464&q=Super+Smash+Brothers+Brawl)

So sayith the Metafan :P .

BTW, Peach > Jigglypuff. Every time.

I love playing as Jigglypuff, mostly because everyone else hates it. It's especially fun against larger characters like Bowser, DK, and Ganondorf. I think one time I hit a friend using Bowser with the rest attack (the one that does so much damage, not the one that puts you to sleep) at least 3 times in a row. Another thing we used to do is I would start Jigglypuff's rolling move while another person using Roy would charge up his sword. And then we have baseball!

I'd release, sometimes wiggle back and forth in front of them to fake them into swinging the sword early, then pile right into them. After they realized that Jigglypuff could change direction faster than Roy could recover from a miss with his sword, they didn't like that game very much. ^^

The potential for Snake seems rather limited in a fantasy-style fighting game. Technology and spy gear don't fit in with the Nintendo theme. I can see Snake being like Falco, except without the Reflector.

I use Marth and Fox. Marth beats everyone except Samus (that Down-B counter ability is amazing), and Fox beats everyone except Marth and Roy.

I want to see King Bob-Omb as a character. He'd have a self-destruct like Roy's charged up B attack, except that it goes off faster, as well as a stomp attack, like Bowser's Down-B.

Revelade
06-14-2006, 8:13 PM
Technology? Look at Samus.

Stealth? Well, Link was quite crafty in Wind Waker...

Anyway, what I love about SSBM is that in multiplayer, it's very easy for a noncuber or a nongamer in general, to learn the ropes and have fun, instead of getting his ass kicked in, say Tekken or Street Fighter.

The singleplayer is quite bland and the most glaring problem is that the characters simply aren't balanced as a few of them like Shiek dominate others like Bowser. Hopefully Nintendo will release patches to keep them balanced as well as an online mode.

It's a great introduction for people who aren't hardcore gamers, into a hardcore genre, fighting.

Zaeyel
06-14-2006, 9:14 PM
Eh, know what you mean... but if you get just quite good enough to pro style, it becomes balanced, because all you need to know is what your vsing and what the tactics of the character is.
For example, lets say I'm marth, and Im vs Samus, a good way to being not thrown around and bombed on, is to be quick with the joystick (like as if playing fox) and short little nudges with some power sword. If the person knows how to go against that, then it even gets more deeper into detail and even harder.

Seriously I think there 1p menu of all star / adventure mode / classic / ## melee that it is AWESOME.

EDIT: BTW Bob-omb would be AWESOME
Oh here give some feeback "Sonic / Tails, in Super Smash Bros. Brawl or not?"

Revelade
06-14-2006, 11:14 PM
Well, Samus and Marth are more even than say Pichu versus Shiek.

Anyway, I find the singleplayer modes fun for the first 3 times, then after, it's a chore to do it. I'd only do it 20+ more times to get the trophies, but even the trophies are just to look at.

You know, they should have LOCKED the other modes like giant melee, that way there's more to unlock.

Fighting games have never had great singleplayer modes, so I'm not just blaming SSBM. Multiplayer wise, new players can easily learn the ropes; that's the beauty of it.

Once you get technical, the imbalances of some fighters are extremely apparent. Of those pro videos, I don't see Pichu, Bowser or such used. Only the fast, speedy characters are mainly used. Not to say any game is balanced perfectly, but in SSBM, someone using Marth has a huge advantage over a Game & Watch player.

I don't have friends over to play cube much and even if I do, SSBM is not too entertaining, which prompted me to sell it.

Anyway, I expect the new SSBM to have a boring singleplayer mode, but two things need to be adressed:

ONLINE MODE - for those who can't have friends over/can't afford 3 more controllers
BETTER BALANCE - DK, Bowser, Game Watch, Pichu...

Why do I get the feeling that Solid Snake and Pitt are probably going to be the weaklings in the game? Though I'm just happy that Link is still playable for the third SSB title. Hopefully they will have some more strategical maps like Hyrule Temple in SSBM for SSBB.

Zaeyel
06-15-2006, 2:53 PM
eh metaknight looks awesome... i just wonder how many characters total will there be.

Ya if they had some nice maps (which it looks like they do... i think) requiring strategy, like u said the link map, then itd be awesome online.

The only thing Im wondering is, on online do u think there gonna have a special option to include more than 4 people? Like 8?

Snake gets a lot of explosives. How is that weak?

06-15-2006, 3:02 PM
I here he's not gonna have ne guns though... lol, for a taunt he could like light a cigerrate and start smokin it.

EDIT: Also having Snake in SSBB would open up a lot of different event matches.

Modred
06-15-2006, 4:57 PM
Hmm, instead of throws, Snake could roll behind another character, paralyze them (time limited, of course), and drag them off the edge of the arena. =D

I like the idea of smoking for a taunt, although that might not go over too well with ESRB. Well, it would just ensure that Brawl has a T rating, and since Melee had one, it doesn't seem it would hurt the title too much.

Ive been playing this game for 2 years now, i've also been at various tournaments all over Europe.
To me Solid snake doesn't really suit it.. Allthough it is pretty cool :p
It's going to own if it goes online and they should also add King K Rool.

SSBM is quite possibly the best multiplayer game on GameCube as it's easy to just pick up and go.

In every Smash Bros game so far I've used Samus mainly (<3 Super Missiles) because of both the sheer firepower and the usefullness of some of her moves (ever dodged a homerun hit using Morph ball?). I also enjoyed using Kirby but he took more time to get used to. On the plus side he had a way to almost garentee a kill if you sucked up an enemy and walked off the edge ^,^ He falls really fast when he's holding someone.

In SSBB, Metaknight/Samus > all ^,^

One final note: Sonic and Tails will never be in a Smash Bros game, ever. Nintendo wouldn't do it because of the massive licensing they'd have to pay Sega, and Sega wouldn't do it because they wouldn't have control over how the characters would be used or portrayed.

If the two companies went together on a game (highly unlikely, the Leafs should win the Stanley Cup before that) like SSB (Nintendo vs Sega?) then it might work, but don't get your hopes up.

Uhh, it's easy to click yourself out from and if you DI right you'll mostly get on the stage again all the time. Good players wouldn't get sucked in anyways :P But it's defently fun to do, or grab them near the edge and just throw them down xD:D

eh yes, it is going to go online, sega has basically gave all there gaming open to all consoles, like sonic is on gc, DUH! and p2! DUH! So since snake is on, id bet sonic could be, I mean rly why not?

The whole Snake deal wasn't meant to happen until the creator of Metal Gear practically begged Nintendo to put thier character in there.

...That's what I read anyway.

Man, when I got SSB and SSBM, I was hooked on the games forever. I usually suck at compedative video games, but I happen to be the world champ in super smash melee. The next one can only be better and super smash was already a great game, the next one's gonna have to be pretty damn awsome to beat the previous one.

Wonder what Wario's fart attack's like. Guess it'd be considered one of those Super Specials the characters have now. Like Marios big fiery blast and Link's triangle slash thing that suspiciously resembles the Pink Floyd emblem...

They are contemplating Sonic and are undecided, in case your wondering. It isn't a no or yes yet, thier working it out since Snake broke the "only Nintendo characters" rule. Sonic would be a cool character. Fastest runner. He'd take Fox's spot, there.

I would suspect it would be a standard "B" attack, similar to Bowser's fire breath.

Dolphin was the code name for the Nintendo GameCube.

And Revolution was the code name for the Nintendo Wii.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is going to be on the Nintendo Wii.

According to the ESRB, it will be in the range between EVERYONE 10+ and TEEN.

lol. am I very funny??? course not! I am single.

Would Capcom get in the action?
What about Mega Man or Viewtiful Joe?
I saw a hoax in the Nintendo Power for Super Smash Bros. Melee.
There are many hoaxes.
I want to make Super Mario Land in color. but jumping on top of enemies turn into stomped goombas.
One time on SSBM I have done something very tough.
Using Pikachu with Handicap 1 against a Mewtwo with Handicap 9 and CPU Level 9.
on Stamina. Can you top that?
I give it FIVE STARS!
I hope all of the characters from SSBM will be on SSBB.
Having Jigglypuff unlockable again.
Dr. Mario unlockable again.
Young Link unlockable again.
At the start will have at least 19 characters.
There should be more than 30 on SSBB.
And have more Pokemon that come from the Pokeballs.
Like Blaziken, Salamence, Aerodactyl, Kyogre, Latios, Rayquaza, Latias, Dragonite, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, even the evolved forms of Eevee.
There are magical spheres that give you special powers.
Mario getting all fired up using a blaze of fire on his foes.
Link using the Hyrule Magic Sword Technique.
Kirby being a chef.
What about Pikachu? Could he use... Volt Tackle?
And we go to the Newcomers.
MetaKnight - Kirby's sword-weilding nemesis.
Pit - the angelic archer from Kid Icarus.
Zero-Suit Samus - she's suitless.
Wario - He's so greedy.
After they showed Wario unleashing a nuclear power poot.
then they showed the logo.
They thought the trailer was over, but there was another character.
From the Metal Gear series, himself: Solid Snake.
"Let the fight begin!"
There will be new courses:
If you are one of the retro lovers, there will be Mushroom Kingdom III.
Mushroom Kingdom III - I think that is from the set of Super Mario Bros. 3.
I know about Super Mario Bros. It was released in Japan in September of 1985, then released in USA in a month later.
Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels (known as Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan) released in Japan in 1986. But it wasn't released in the USA until there was Super Mario All-Stars.
On Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels, on the title screen, to start on World A, hold A then press start. (On SMB1, holding A and pressing Start continues from last world).
On Lost Levels, if you end in Game Over, it displays: Continue and End.
After you beat all of the levels on Lost Levels without using Warp Zone, you'll play in the Fantasy World (which is World 9)
On the NES Emulator I play, after I completed D-4, I beat the game, whenever the text was going to be displayed, the tiles scramble.
There is no world E in lost levels. or F, or G, etc.
Super Mario Bros 2 was released in the USA 1988, then was released in Japan in 1992 and known as Super Mario Bros. USA.
Super Mario Bros 3 was released in Japan in 1988, then released in USA in 1990.
This was a long paragraph. Talk back soon...

I dunno, it could well be up against next-gen Mortal Kombat, Virtua Fighter and Tekken games.

Hope for its sake that there isn't a Soul Caliber 4 in the pipeline.

(Then again, 3 did lose something special from 2...:concern:)

You know, sometimes I just find myself wishing that SquareEnix would lend Nintendo their characters for SSBB. Sephiroth owns Giga Bowser as a secret boss any day of the week (lol - imagine trying to dodge or shield against Super Nova), hands DOWN. Add the SHM to the Master/Crazy Hands battle, too, and I'm almost certain that a great deal of people (FF7 fans not included) would buy it just for that.

And I hope they don't nerf Marth too much. Counter+Sword Dance+Forward Smash=Ownage.
