I thought the actors did well considering the content, but the overall plot had holes large enough to drive a semi through them, especially at the beginning. Everything moved so fast, jumping from one conclusion to another. It really appeared that the characters were acting on knowledge they couldn't possibly posses in the scenario of the film--like they knew what we knew about Damien almost the whole time.
It didn't really help that the movie was advertised to be scary, but relied on cheap sight gags that lasted no more than 2 seconds at a time and had no lasting power. I found any decent amount of suspence or horror missing. Everything fit together just a bit too nicely. Although I won't give away the ending, I will note that I had thought out that ending around halfway through the film. Of course, I wasn't sure if it would go that way, but turns out my first instinct was right.
Maybe not everyone thought it so predicatable, but I was quite bored by the end. Not to mention some of logical problems the writers must have encountered when creating some of the scenarios. Such as a few incidents that a brief investigation could have discovered the true culprit and actually given Thorn a reason for his actions. But without any sort of connection like this, I thought him mad as soon as he began his quest. He had no real reason to believe what the priest told him at this point, besides a very unlucky coincidence.
I left the theater feeling as though I had wasted most of my money. Although our theater is only $4.50, I felt the movie only worth $2 at most.

I thought it was reasonalbe. i felt as though thorn was sort of 'knew the truth' but couldn't be bothered to do anything until the end.
