Greetings Mr. Duck,
The "pure black color with white spots" as you call them, is really just space with stars in it. I don't know who got the crazy idea of having these outrageously shiny balls of burning gas, but hey, who AM I to say!!?!?
I think having stars in space is a pretty crazy concept too. I wish it would be all black. Stars suck. Who needs the SUN!!?!?
But...the stars are here to stay. You can't remove them, sorry!

You can't just use StarForge to lay null terrain down?

188 is a nice black color, on space at least, it might be different in installation.

Hehe!
GUEdit works great with player colors.. black is #17
(Previous post was a joke that nobody thought was funny)
The player colors are different for every OS, I think. What it does is when you try to view P13, it goes to P1+12, which is some wierd thing in your memory. It tries to read it as a color, and that's why it looks wierd.

The new problem we have is that whenever a change is made to StarCraft.exe (through a patch), the colors above 12should all change, and have to be re-researched. Sucks, huh? I bet the players above 12 all have to be re-researched, too. Poor MiniMoose27...
