Ok, i just watched The Matrix, and i must say it was one of the best movies I have ever seen. I love movies that make you wonder about life, and the matrix does that for you. While I didn't know any of the actors, it was the whole concept of the movie that got me hooked on it. Anybody else have any thoughts?

The movies went down hill the more they made. Aside from the big fight at the end of the 3rd movie, I liked that. Oh and Smith>Neo.

The whole concept of the Matrix is such a joke to me, I think the first time I watched it I laughed out loud. I mean, there are these machines that are capable of flight, of devastating destruction, yet they don't know how to take steps to clear the skies of smog. SO, they use human beings as batteries. When Morpheus pulls the Duracel Battery up to the screen, I was probably the only person in the theater who thought it was funny and let out a chuckle.

The action sequences in the movie made it worth the money I spent on it, and while I really did like the concept overall, I think they could have done more to the storyline and made a better third movie. It ended too abruptly and way too easy... Neo has to ... well I won't spoil the ending for you, but it's really simple.

Matrix was a great movie that make you wonder and thought a lot, it was Matrix 1 that achieve all the success.

It fuk up completely when Matrix 2 come out, especially where they show Neo and Trinity sex scene, honestly I cannot understand what the fuk is that for, for god sake is a sci-fi movie, and I don’t think is necessary, the producer got this dirty mind on his head and screw up the whole concept of Matrix.

Till Matrix 3, and is like fight, fight, fight! And everything just far far far away from Matrix 1.

matrix one was one of the best movies. the other 2 let down the trilogy

The fact they made a trilogy let down the trilogy. Also, CGI...why?

Matrix 1 is the only Matrix

2 and 3 are crap. The machines don't want to clear the sky because they dont' need to. What's so hard to understand? The storyline of 1 is perfect. Nothing is irealistic. It's pretty much posible. Leaving many deep thoughts. Until you see 2... and die of laughing

The Matrix was good, but the others sucked.

Who here's seen the Animatrix? And who here thought that it was really REALLY f**ked up? apart from the first scene and the black and white detective story (which were actually pretty good), the rest were made by animators either drunk or high....or both.

The all CGI one, Flight of the Osiris. *puts on Comic Book guy voice*
Worst. CGI short. Ever.

Basically beating a dead horse with this one....

First Movie was very good. And I enjoyed every second of it.

The Second was alright, but was a 6/10. The only part that gives that score, was with the architect... Very deep part..

The Third Movie, pffft.... Yawn! Until the end, that wasn't too bad. At least, the fighting was good. But, the story sucked.

Did your family just get their first TV? :concern:

Well, at least you liked it.

Sure, Matrix 2 and 3 weren't as great as the first movie, but I recognized them for what they are- eye candy. Pure and simple.

There's some interesting philosophy in the first movie, but you can also find that philosophy (and much more interesting shit) in any intro to philosophy class, or from "Philosophy for Dummies".

The storyline about the machines and the metaphysics and The One and all that is just a cover for the action scenes, so it doesn't seem to be a complete waste of time. What else would you watch it for?

/Snow Crash was better cyberpunk
//and would make a better movie

Unfortunately, they screwed up the eye candy when they overdid it with the CGI in the fight scenes.
It really ruined Burly Brawl.
I mean, christ, it looked like a video game, not a film.
(No offence to games, naturally)

700 Smiths jump of Neo. Neo brakes free. BULLSHIT. That sceen cracked me up the first time I saw it. But then it gets iritating to see it so many times on HBO.

I only liked the matrix because it had lots of action, i didn't like the story line or anything else about the movie..

I think the matrix is ok with all the action seens, but what I can't stand is all that philosophical bullshit coming out of morpheus......idiot.

The story line is possible, but kinda unrealistic. Coming to think of it, the 2nd and 3d are pretty impossible, with all Neo's superpowers in the 'real' world.

And that fight scene with Neo and that huge mob of Smiths looks like shite, absolute shite.

I think the idea was that the "real" world is actually a Matrix it's self, that it is a simulator and beyond reach.

Either that or Matrix 3 sucks.

I was expecting that possibility when I saw the movie, and it would have made the movie about 300x more awesome.

Yeah I haven't seen the Matrix 3 but the first one was ten times better than the second, I only like watching the movie for the music in the chase scene on the freeway. Yeah Neo had powers because they totally twisted the storyline, I actually had a headache after his conversation with the Architect.

I think they were trying to make a distinction that Neo was still "in the matrix" even when he wasn't "plugged in", much like Smith's double came into the real world.

So? It would have been even more awesome if Zion and the "real world" was it's own matrix. Why? Because no one would have seen it coming.

My Dad's suggestion was that after Smith took over Neo, Neo should re-emerge from the mirror...O.o

My Dad's suggestion was that after Smith took over Neo, Neo should re-emerge from the mirror...O.oBetter yet, Neo should reappear in the hallway where he destroyed Smith in the original Matrix. But that just makes me wonder about the clusterfuck that would emerge from that mess, similar to the "Matrix in a Matrix" notion I believe everyone started to wonder about at the end of Reloaded - by the way, that could be seen from a mile away, I'm kind of glad they didn't do the whole "Matrix in a Matrix" concept. Not that I believe the second and third films did much for the trilogy, but at least they ended the damn thing and left it open for a future trilogy. Hopefully, we'll have different characters, a different objective (was tired of hearing about a dumbfuck prophecy about 10 minutes into the second film), and possibly (not very likely, but we can always hope) some actors who can actually act. Good God! When Morpheous finds out the prophecy was designed by the machines as another method of control, we didn't really feel his heart break at all, did we? I sure didn't. And when Trinity dies, well, I just don't have the words... but I laughed. Really. I laughed. It was laughable. Trite. Obnoxious Hollywood garbage!

Ok. Sorry, it could have been better, it was what it was, and I hope if another trilogy is in the works, we'll have a more thorough story, you know, a story with an objective and an ending that doesn't remind me of Dragonball Z.

The Matrix(the first one.the other two suck)came in 1999 and that was a turnning point in the history of movies. It gave the word "special efect" a whole new meaning. Its like the second Renaissance of movies(the first one was"StarWars")

Or perhaps he could re-emerge in the Kupatrix...

I liked the first Matrix way more than the other 2, It was the start of the special a effects, The others were just abusing Neo's powers to own everything anytime and all the time.
