Are there any names I should be aware of NOT to use, in the event I am capable of returning. Q is one, but are there any others. (figured this one out the Hard way :rolleyes: )

there are no "real" naes that I know of that are banned, but there are many single letters that do it, I'm not sure of them all, so just dont change your name to single letters.

yes, as I said, I was the one who ended up switching my name to Q, following I (I works, btw). my standard names are the_fruity_fellow and darkezero. I was playing with info, a bot of sorts.

edit: the reason you see my name attempting to access is because im testing to see how long the ban lasts.

Don't ask me. The second I switched my nickname to Q on IRC, the thing banned me and the reason was for using an unauthorized, protected nickname, or something.

other networks are all protected. This is to prevent someone from
impersonating services and gaining passwords used on other networks as
well. X Q W and a few others I can't think of right now are protected.

If your really interested in learning every restriction, you might dig deeper then I have, talk to some of the admins on #etg, or head over to their forums and ask them.

Q is a protected nickname, for whatever reason. I guess an admin likes it or something, I don't know.

When you use the name Q, you get klined/k-lined/whatever. In practice, it's a perma-ban. Only admins can repeal this, and the channel operators are not admins so don't ask them.

I don't remember telling you to change your name to Q... so it was probably Baracus, or Giggil. Don't blame me for any of this... no matter how annoying the saluting gets, it's nice having a suck-up :P

Anyway... dunno of any other protected names. Well, kongurous might as well be one cus you know I'm gonna bitch and whine about it if you take it. Then have Vhaeraun find some way to make it impossible to use the name kongurous as long as he's on.
