My cookies found their way to inexistence (*munch* *munch*) and I realized I don't remember the password to my accounts in many... many... many (*20)... sites. Starcraft.org happens to be one of them - however, it doesn't seem to have a Password Recovery feature, what should I do? Is there a way to find out?

Better yet, I heard that you can access sc.org with the WB account; well, my old sc.org account and this one use the same username, so I can't. Can this be, ugh, fixed?

If the org network servers are like any other server, the passwords are most likely stored in an encrypted form, and cannot be recovered. Though, if you can (which I doubt) get someone to help you who has access to the database, they could reset your password to one of your liking.

As for the other sites, all I can say is that you should use a set of three passwords that you'll always remember, or at least write them down...

I'm afraid I don't have the ability to fix this for you.

Well, I have a set of 8 passwords, and I usually mix them with random additions. :\

Ok... so what about -

- Don't you have the power to change member passwords, Schwitzer?

I also have Firefox remember my passwords, and hey, you know what? It remembers the passwords in its cookies; Yes! It does! Like every browser does.

I just memorize my passwords. You lose.

You could always try typing in the 10 different passwords you use. :D

More like, 8, and I use combinations of parts of them, with additions of randoms, so that'd be: 16777216 different versions to try. Yippy.

How about starting a tiny *.txt file with the passwords you use per site? That's what I do. :P And afterwards, I have it compressed in an encrypted *.rar file with the least common of my passwords. That way, I only have to really remember one pass' (although I recall from memory almost all the others I use). ;)

I also cannot remember my password for starcraft.org. Are there no options for resetting my password?

I don't understand. Why do you people have strange or hard passwords for a gaming site? I mean really. I've got maybe 3 I use, 1 which is a main one.

Why the hell do you need 8 different ones? And how can you not remember your SC.Org password? You have to login everytime you visit the site :/

There is no reason you should have 8 passwords for your gaming hobby. >_>

Are you seriously afraid someone is going to steal your account?

I have all the site's I usually frequent with passwords, those including forums, e-mail providers and curiously enough FTP servers (as you well know by now). :P
Yes, I do feel that my "gaming hobby" is in serious jeopardy...

I created my login shortly after SC.org relaunched. That may not be the correct term but it was a year or two ago after the site had been down for some time.

Now I cannot log in, as all my standard passwords are not working. I notice that now passwords must be a minimum of eight characters (I don't remember that being the case when I created my account, but it was a while ago) so that limits which password it might be.

Was starcraft.org just not coded to allow for password recovery? Not being able to log in will not affect my viewing the site, but it would be nice just the same.
