My friends and I love Broodwar and especially love the fastest map. I know a lot of you think it's for newbs - don't post that just leave. Anyway, when we play one of the guys just makes mad cannons and the map maxes. I don't do map editing, but really want to get a fastest map that doesn't max. Is this even possible, or is there a limit set in Starcraft?
Please help if you can.
Thanks,
Jon

there is a limit set in sc, i think its like 1650 total units, one way to prevent that is not the stack too many minerals in fastest, if u edit maps.i think 15 minerals stacked is fine, instead of 25, it will save room for 80 units. i dont think i ever see anyone on fastest get 50 workers on mineral, if he does hes attack force must have been small:)

Wrong you are. I get more then 15-25 workers. Call it overkill, but rather then having a huge "whoop-ass" attack force, you can get it back quickly with resources flowing.

Right, but is there any way that the limit can be edited??

The in game unit limit for Starcraft is 1650 units. This counts everything, and there is no possible way to edit it. Starforge says it can, but that is only the units that it will allow you to put in the map editor, the game is unafected. Use less minerals, and kill Photon Cannons fast.

I think there is a way to change it in starforge, but it might crash SC. I havn't tested it.

You'd have to hack and edit the EXE using mad coding skills, and create a new engine that allows more than 1650 sprites in the game.

All of that's illegal, however.

If anyone could help me, or knows how to code that I would be willing to pay for it. I really need that max taken away. If not thanks for everyone's help.
