Whenever I go on to the IRC, and try to connect I get this message:
Unable to connect : java.net.SocketException : connect
Does that mean I'm screwed or am I just stupid? Plz help someone.
No, am connecting there just fine (through ChatZilla). ;)

So that means what exactly is wrong with my laptop?

Since I still haven't developed mind reading capabillities, it means that I need more details on your IRC app and all Java related thingies you might have there. :P
I also connect through a laptop and mine works fine. And perhaps also moving this to the TA area would be nice as well. ;)

Ah feckit...Is the IRC interesting enough for me to check out all my 'java related thingies'?
I'm a lazy bum and a technological nitwit. :P
If you're up to see wacked up type of chat possible in a channel, then hell yes... Ah well, it's your choice anyway.
Basan hes using the Java chat to connect.
Therefore he doesn't really have an irc client.
Therefore you can't really do much else then tell him this:
Try again later.
ETG has some really fucked up DNS something or other, which is why I always use an IP address to connect.

Most beautiful words that have ever come out of you Neo.
Thanks guys, someone can close this now.

Lol, sorry NastyApe, I don't personally like JAVA IRC clients.
If you have problems in the future, you could try Chatzilla (if you have Firefox) or www.mirc.com

Download mIRC, it can be a bit complicated, but it's much better than the Java client. :/

No comments... almost any IRC app is better than their counterparts in Java (n' I say almost 'cause haven't nor will I test'em all). :smirk:
