I really do love this game, and I really want to see it on the PC!

For those of you that don't know, HeroScape is a Turn-Based Tabletop Strategy game. You try to kill all your enemies monsters, or accomplish a set scenerio using people/creatures from different times (medeval to robots!) and make an army to accomplish this.

I feel that if we were to actually make this game, people would play it, as well as it would be easy once we got a stable 3D engine going that applied all the rules and our characters would already be mapped out because we could merely copy what Hasbro has done for its board game. Of course, we would ask for permission/include them in the credits and it would be open-source.

Hopefully someone else feels the same way and we could actually start something over the summer. I currently know no programming languages, but I can model somewhat and we could use the miniatures that are involved in the game for inspiration.

Would anyone be interested in doing something like this?

The guy talks about it all to the new people out there.

I'd love to try, but my friends aren't interested, the game does seem complex, which means it can take long times (which is why I don't like RISK) and the player that is winning seems to keep winning throughout the game.

I like those euro or light strategy games.
