That video's source is still in question. It's not from the studio though, there's another clip that is supposedly a studio test, and it's not as clear, but still interesting.

Oh, and I'm DEFINITELY going to see this. In fact, I may just dress up as Optimus Prime........errr, nevermind.

I'm not sure about the flim as a whole. I hope it works, but I can't help but feel it will be like the Fantastic Four. Ok to pass a few minutes, but a little...mediocre.

The CGI looked good though.

I don't know about the movie, but nice looking CGI.

If it's the old classic Transformers with optimous prime, and the constructobots and such, that was canceled early 90's(not all the lame new ones there are now like with the fancy CG graphics. Caroon one was better just cuz it is) I will go.

Even being fake, it's a testament to the technology when an average joe can create something so amazing.

That is so ridiculously cool, even if it's not from the movie. I would love to see a Transformers movie though, especially with the CGI technology of today.

I still don't know how I feel about this movie.

I just hope they don't kill it with poor plotline and cheesy character development like (mostly) every other film based off of an old show//cartoon//comic . . .

Evrytime I see that CGI test. I cry in happiness. The graphics are so great. I've always loved Transformers, despite the tough times they've been going through, with the extremely crappy sesons... I do hope this is based off the 1st season.

Meh, if the whole movie was that awesome graphics, it would take some pretty lame writers to mess it up. Yet somehow they always find a way.

Where was this movie when I was 6? Eh, I guess the Ninja Turtles movies kept me plenty distracted. Finally I major wrong in my life is being corrected.

My biggest fear for this movie is that it might be successful. For years I've heard rumors of various "mecha animes" being turned into movies (including my beloved Evangelion). Fortunately these whispers have bore no fruit, but if a Transformers movie is successful is could pave treacherous rode to making Gundman Wing and other fighting robot shows into movies. Thus, for the benefit of the human race I hope this movie fails (on the other hand I hate you human slime so I'm going to see it 10 times).

CGI is overused and relied on as an "easy way out" nowadays. If they constructed in real life a machine that actually can transform from a robot-looking thing into a car, now that would be sweet.

No it wouldn't be sweet. Unfortunetly, at least in this day, it would be pretty crappy to see a transforming "real life" vehicle because it would not be very smooth at all.

I think CGI-Based (ie: stuff that looks real like AC, or that CGI Test) could probably make a really cool Transformers movie.

Personally I would rather see smooth transformations and impossible cool action stunts then some pos semi-jerky vehicle transforming.

CGI is great when it portrays something new or different.

This is why King Kong sucked so hard; it had no original animation quality. We saw a CGI gorilla in Mighty Joe Young and who hasn't seen a CGI dinosaur? That's why Jurassic park was crap after the first movie. No story, all effects.

ok my internet is slower than a snail so i didn't watch the clips but the Director of the movie is Michael Bay you heard about him right(Bad boys1,2 Armagedon Pearl Harbor you get the point) so that his only project for 2007 and he is very commited in making movies and all of his movies are amazing with such effect that can make your head explode however Jerry Bruchimer is not there to produce the movie but i think Bay done a great job with "The island" without Bruchimer so i don't doubt his talent as a director

Citing Bad Boys and Pearl Harbor as directing credits would not be considered a positive in my opinion.

This is a good sized necro, but I didn't want to start another thread when this one fit so well. ;)

Before going on, I want to clarify that the CGI video posted above is indeed a fake but cool nonetheless.

Anyhow, here is a full-body picture of the new Optimus as well as a link to the just-released full trailer for the movie. Looks like it'll be more of a cool, popcorn-eating adventure -- but I'd love to be surprised with proper carryovers of the characters we all know and love from the old cartoons.

But yeah, that looks awseome. And they actuly did nsomething to fix an old problem of mine...No pilots. How can the transformers fool poeple if they dont have any pilots in them?
Well, the new solution is holographic people! Yay!

Holy hell optimus has flames! This movie is merging a lot of different groups of people, Original fans, hot rodders, and those into that particular genre. I can't wait to see my new Camaro and a tricked out Optimus Prime!
