OK, so I just recently started playing this game, and I've been having a good bit of fun. I've had it up to here with WC and its gross imbalances and rude jackasses and decided that it's fun for DotA and that's about it.
I tried some of the solo missions, got familiarized with the majority of the units, then quit. I wasn't saving my progress and after 3-4 missions I'd get bored with whatever ridiculous scenario they'd set me up expecting me to continue plugging away.
I generally tend to enjoy the USA AF General because I like the planes bit. I have a lot of trouble with the USA Laser General and the China Infantry General. The laser tanks are a bitch and the fucking Chinese dude just throws bunkers and detect invis all over the goddamned map and fills them full of rocket guys.
I got a cool guy called AAHawks{0 or something like that to help me a little with the AF thing, it was cool. I couldn't really stand too much time around him, though, he kept referring to himself as "pro", which was sort of grating my nerves.
Someone want to elaborate on some experiences or strategies?
