View Full Version : Invader ZIM: Forgotten Greatness
Does any1 remember this show? It aired on nick in early 2001 and was pulled a season and a half later due to mature content. The funny thing about that is, it was created for older viewers, and it was pulled because it would scare the younger viewers. Does that seem a little odd?

I've been watching it on shoutcast. Best episode "The Most Horrible X-mas Ever"
What really sucks is that Adult Swim wanted to pick the show up but Nick refused to sell them the rights out of fear that it would be successful on another network. Seriously what's the point of owning a right's to a show you don't air and can't profit off of.
Actually they do profit off of the Merchendise.

I watched one episode and I was thoroughly terrified. Ge was in a house with this robot that liked cheese, then a pimple appeared on his face and he drew a face on it and it hypnotized people… >.< *shudder*

My favorite has to be Spooktacular of Spooky Doom. I liked the Cameo of one of Jhonen's Comic Characters called JTHM.

Yeah that was a great show it frikkin rocked. I wish I had it on DVD. I've seen the whole first season and the x-mas episode. I love that show i know alot about the guy who made it about the show too. I wouldn't say I know everything about it i know theres many mor ppl that Know more. And the Robot that likes cheese that ur thinkin' of that Gir.....Ya, Gir.

I think the show probably got pulled after "Hamstergedon". IMO that was one of the best episodes.

Actually, in the end when Zim is bieng chased by gaurds because of a Bankrobbery he did not commit, he trys to fly away on GIR. They get about 200 feet then Gir's Jets cut out. It turns out he exchanged the Fuel in his tank for tuna. Zim gets mad. Then GIR eats the tuna.

And, Jill's pic is a easter egg thats hidden in a couple of episodes. Legend has it that JCV was going to put that in the show but Nick wouldn't let him.

Jill's avatar is of Bloody GIR. Supposedly, Bloody GIR appears in a few episodes but only for a fraction of a second. Its purpose is unknown to me, but it's cool.
Because JCV was pissed at Nick for not letting him show it. So hi snuck in it...

what episodes is it in? Is it like a flash by subliminal type thing, or can you actually see it if you look hard enough in normal speed?
You cant see it unless you zoom in somewhere. Its in the Episode "Bad,Bad, Rubber Piggy"
Run a Google (Or Preferred search engine) search on "Bloody Gir"

so it's just in a few frames(or only one). Hmmm... I guess nobody can afford to go by every episode frame by frame looking for things like that.
I think Invader Zim got canceled by angry parents of seven year olds.(the show was rated TV-Y7) I also notice that the show seemed to get progressively more violent(and funny) as the show went on.

It was hinted that if the series had been continued, there would have been an episode where Dib beats Zim.
Actually, Dib beats Zim all the time, he just never Destroys him.
There was an episode where Zim captured Dib and put him into a fantasy reality where he beat Zim as well as the entire erkan empire. At the end of his life, Dib got the best person ever to live award and in a talk show he later revealed that he did indeed throw a muffin at Zim. Zim then awoke him from his reality and chucked a muffin at his face, then let him go.

No. The reason for Zim's cancellation had nothing to do with parents complaining about the show.

Yes. Invader Zim. I watched it when it first aired. Then it got canceled. I didn't seem to notice. My favorite show then was Ed Edd And Eddy. Then in late 2005 My Bro found it on Nicktoons(Channel 235) My life hassn't been the same since.(I can do transcripts to if you want):P

Invader Zim was the best show ever. But Nickalodean cancled it, but they still show reruns on another station called NickToons. There should be a petition to bring the back on. Invader Zim was canceld after their first season. In the secound season however, they were going to make a TV movie called "Invader Dib" were Dib invades Irk and destory the Irken race as the final episode.

although this is from wikipedia, i see no reason not to believe its truth:
At one point, Cartoon Network showed strong interest in purchasing the rights Invader Zim for their Adult Swim block, as well as producing new episodes of the series for their network. Nick however refused to sell the rights in fear that the show would become a large success on another network.
