RAD tools

I'm, trying to convert some files using rad tools, but they don't seem to work properly. When i try to convert the file, it just opens upo SC.
Does anyone know what's going on?

If I remember correctly, the RAD tools converted *.avi and *.bmp files to *.smk and back. The RAD tools is not what you need.

I heard it could be used for that purpose.
It's not of the untmost importance thhough anymore, it's mainly the whole SC opening thing that worries me...

The Smacker Video tools from RAD game development are used to open up .smk files. .smk files are the ones that contain the unit portraits and cinematics. And smk's are really the only thing that will work with those tools. So .mov files are out. .avi files might work if I remember but I only messed with RAD once and that was awhile ago so I'm not 100% sure. I think eco pretty much drilled down the filse that work with the smacker viewer.

Im probably posting this too late but anyhow..
RAD Video (atleast the latest free version available) can compress into .smk from .avy only, but if you want it to work with SC (to change portrait or something) you'll have to choose the pallete (preferably) from the .smk you'll be repalcing.

There is a .mov option but it does not work to convert it i guess...
