sorry you're a newb. no offense.
Exactly what problems do you have? Can't run it? Or can run it and don't know what to do?

You mean no idea? Starting from your desktop, go to the Start menu, find the Starcraft folder, and there will be more programs in there after you install them. Select StarCraft X-tra Editor; Special, Alternet, Base, P12, or Classic Mod.

ya
just doesn't display the x-tra editer icon
NeoBowman, do you have administrator access on that PC, in the 1st place, to (be able to) install the SCXE setup file you got? Just wondering... ;)
Edit add:
sorry you're a newb. no offense.
You always say the 'nicest' things... and that's why I 'wuv' ya. :P Glad that you were received that exact same way when you came to WB's. Or plainly not.
Don't mind him, 'Bowman and just give us a lil' more details on what's your predicament here. :)

I downloaded it with no problem and in the right file. I just can't see the icon from the start menu.

Question: Have you double clicked on the downloaded file to install it? :shiftyl:
Only after that it installs the SCXE Modes and shows ya the icons above mentioned at the start menu. ;)

you mean the setup?
you mean the setup?
*Duh* Yeah, the dl'ed file is the exact same thing as the setup one. Only after installing it you may try to use any of the SCXE modes. ;)

did all that
Where's the folder directory where you installed SC-BW? After knowing that, just check that folder if it has any "SCXE *.exe" thingys... and if it has, the SCXE Modes you've setted up should work. ;)

setup doesn't work

*Sigh* Back (http://www.warboards.org/showpost.php?p=313837&postcount=9) to the drawing board... :P As I've already said there, you must get administrator access on that PC to be allowed to install SCXE. No other way around it as I can see it currently.

When i Dl'd mine it work'd fine mybe you should either try and redo the setup and have all files go on to the desktop. that's what i had to do for the icon to show up on the desktop.

:o For setting up SCXE on some OS's, like the XP for instance, you must have administrator access. No way around that. And what you just described above usually happens when you already settled SCXE up and use it's Wizard's options to get shortcuts to your modes on your desktop.
I know to have unchecked mine, that's for sure (read, I prefer to handle it all from the SCXE Wizard link at my quickbar). ;)
