Okay me and friend came up with this to explain earth being the ark please tell me if i left any holes in it

In the past there was a war where the flood were fighting the forerunners and the latter were on the verge of defeat. Left with no choice they detnated the halos. Now is just me or is it kinda counter productive killing all sientient life? I mean you kill the flood but then what? So i think they had a plan. They found earth and set up all these shelters and stuff to protect themselves and "fire in the hole". So they live and evreything else dies! Earth is the Ark the halos are the flood see the conection? Well anyway as time goes on the forerunners are pretty much killed by a major calmity (think about what happened to dinosaurs). Those left had to live a stone age life ans soon forgot about the flood. But soon they began to evolve agian and become humans! So humans are forerunner decsendents. Now the prohets are supposedly holy priest in search of the forerunners. However if they find them they are supposed to step down and let them rule. But they like power... why not declare the humans enemys and kill them to keep there power... however as the war comes to a stal the prophets are afarid they lose.... so they see there only allternative is to activate the halos but they mis inturprett something and think it only kills humans! They just keep up this divine wind stuff to keep all the races in line it doesn't work and the result is the end of Halo 2...

If any of you have any qs just post them I'll try to ansewer!

Sounds alright but I don't think the prophets motives need to be questioned like that. While they are in it for themselves I think they are in the dark about what humans are, all the information they got is from the halos and the sentinals aren't exactly forthcoming with the "halo will kill you" bit of information so I think the Prophets generally believe in the "divine winds" even if they don't care about saving anyone but themselves. The sentinal wouldn't give them any reason to believe humans are forerunner decendants unless asked that specific piece of information, just like its personality in the game (though in the game it gave YOU tons of hints that humans were the forerunners).

The elites became rebellious after they were stood down. With the power in mind elites are far more trustworth than brutes but the prophets care about a little something called self preservation. Elites couldn't offer the same protection so the brutes took the elites jobs, the prophets thinking that the brutes were more handy at keeping them safe and bringing about the divine wind. I also don't think the prophets were expecting such a large scale rebellion because they were used to being able to push the elites around, or atleast they weren't expecting such a large scale rebellion before they had the index. I'm not really argueing with you, power is just a tool and I think they wanted the power to use for self preservation and reach their belief of heaven rather than trying to seek power for the sole purpose of having it. If the prophets plan had worked then there would be no need for power so I don't think they were planning on trying to maintain a large powerbase.

I think most of the prophits are just doing there religous stuff. But Truth stirkes me as the kinda backstabbing dictatror. And most of the prophets take orders and his rule is pretty much supreme I can see him beig power hungry. plus remember how he retty much forsaked the one who attacked earthj
