Don't forget to select Use Map Settings when you actually play the map in SC. If you leave it on Melee it will delete all the units you place for anyone.

what happens when you play the map?
Hello, Viper_Z. 1st of all, which map editor you're using - StarEdit (aka original Blizz's map editor) or other?
If it's StarEdit, the more basic editor, I humbly sugggest you to press the F1 key when having the editor opened and reading it's content. That's what I did when started my SC-BW mapping... well, that and fussing with the editor. :smirk:
And the problem of unit placement you speak of happens to all units, or buildings only? Maybe I found what your problem is - the "brush palette" isn't opened and for that you have to click on the "new brush palette". After it opening and having the "units layer" selected, you're ready to go by picking the units from there and placing'em on the exact spot on the map you want'em to be. ;)
If the problem persists, mosly likely you're trying to put'em over water/space/oil puddles - the ultimate inplaceable spots. If not, then the building you are trying to place if over unplaceable terrain, like rocky ground for instance, or to nearer to resource nodes (minerals and/or vespene geysers) too.
If that still didn't solved your issue, then more information is needed from your behalf for us to have more clues on what the matter is, so we can try to solve it properly. *Hint, hint* :)
Maybe a step by step on what ya exactly did, since you opened the map editor, might prove usefull for us on that account.
Side note: Your recent avy may be a lil' over the border on the tastefully allowed (http://www.warboards.org/faq.php?faq=faq_rules#faq_faq_rules_explicit), according to the site's FAQ/rules (http://www.warboards.org/faq.php?). Perhaps you should look better into that (to avoid annoyances getting your way). :shiftyl:

And what's the issue with it, apart the AI factor we spoke about (in PM's/IRC)? Information is always a big help around here (as in, allows us to find the issue faster most of the times). ;)

viper_Z, this is not the place to advertise your clan. You can keep a link in your signature, but posting about it is a no no.

i can't figure out how two make the computer attack me in the maps i make.
and here is a melee map i made for everyone. (it's not a good idea to be protoss. terran has flying building, while zerg have overlords.)

Make a big area around your base and run the following two AI scripts there:
Value this Area Higher
AI Harass
i can't figure out how two make the computer attack me in the maps i make.
Do you mean what to do for'em to build stuff to attack you? Or was it solely to harass ya as MG spoked?
Btw MG, I've used the "AI harass" script before with no "value area higher" stuff and it worked still. ;)

I know that; however, if you use Value, it'll have the computer continually bring forces just outside of it, so you can't just push into their base while their army is spread across the map.
It makes it much more difficult, but also much more realistic.

Hmm, never thought of that. I guess that will use it on one of my campaign maps (where I use the harassing a lot)... Char is the place, if ya wanna know. :)
