Does anyone think DoW Dark Crusade's new take on single player will work?

The best way to describe it is DoW: Total War.
7 factions will fight a non-linear campaign over a world map of Kronus, fighting for areas of the planet that give bonuses.
But do you think it will work?
I trust relic, but it's a hell of a task, and a hell of a change of pace.
What do the rest of you think?

Hey, I liked the single-player of the Total War games (Hell, I've mastered every faction in Shogun and Medieval) so why would this be any different? I think a good ol' fashioned huge-ass war for a planet spanning 7 powerful armies and a crapload of explosions would be good for Dawn of War :D

Yeah, I love Total War, I'm just hoping DoW can at least match it, or else it'll seem like a cheap rip of of other such game modes.
I want an oline World Domination Tour as well.

Hmmm. Seeing as how all of Relic's games are amazingly awsome in all ways, I think its going to work out just fine. I'm looking forward to kicking some Necron ass with the Eldar!
