It's called HellFire Missiles, they're real you know, Apaches shoot them.

And mongoose is right, it would be most efficient (and smooth-looking in-game) if you simply made the death animation look like what you want it to be; you can add actual splash to the weapon in the weapon editor for the weapons.dat file.

Can't you just edit the iscript to overlay the flame graphic? Maybe you have it put several of them down with random rotations or something? No GRP editing needed in that case.

He can, but this would require every attack to use a high amount of overlays which would result in game crashes. He would be better-off doing a GRP that looks like that so that there'll be only 1 overlay per attack.

That's because you're using you're using your own images. Don't. Use the ones that are created when you tell RetroGRP to write out BMPs.

Oh that... lol. They're not messed up, that's how they're supposed to be. I'm too lazy than to exaplain to you why it needs to be like that, just follow the pattern of the colors when you make changes to it (if it's blue outside, purple around, and green in middle, so make your changes with blue outside, purple in... etc) and it'll look like you want it to look in game.
