Someone please tell me what's wrong with this loading screen. I'm using it under the directory "glue/title/title.pcx"
I can tell you what's wrong without even looking at it :P
Wrong palette.
Extract the original SC's title.pcx and open in in either photoshop or paintshop. You'll see a colormap on the right with 256 colors - this is this image's palette. Save it (the palette) and then open your picture, now load SC's palette into your image. Now save, and voila!
If you don't have photoshop or paintshop, turn your pcx into a bmp, use paint to save this as a gif or an 8-bit bmp, and that convert to pcx. The colors in the loading screen will be messed up because you used the wrong palette, but at least the image will be 8-bit and load.

Provided the dowloading site doesn't have it bundled with spy/add/spamware junk on it's setup pack... which, alas, seems to the wider majority nowadays. :P
Go with Aqo's idea, for instance Kazansky. ;)

Smart@ss. :P I don't exactly recall from where I did got mine, but either it was from a thread linkage here or it was from Dl'.com, Tucows (http://www.tucows.com/) or other dl'ing site on my app finding favourites at the time. Not sure which, but am certain that it had s**tware bundled in the setup pack, 'cause had run a SpyBot n' Ad-Aware check before and afterwards. And decided to do the new run because something got my attention at the time during the install and those result presented positives that time.

Okay, I got a program called the "Easy Image Converter." Oh, it CONVERTED alright - but it made the damn image PINK AND GREEN!
Like I said, you will have the wrong palette.
If you want, there's a way to fix it 'from around', but this would require a calculator, and a lot of clicking that may last up to two hours, which may become much longer because you'll probably get bored in the middle.
If you think you can do it, here's what need to be done:

See these two palettes, with 256 colors in each? One is the palette that SC uses, and the other is the palette that your image gets when you convert it to a *.gif file.
So, after you convert your image to a *.gif, save a backup of it, and start changing colors accordingly, manually... for instance, the hue of red which is the 2nd color in the gif palette will turn blue in Starcraft. To fix it, you can change it to the 99th color in the gif palette, which is a dark aqua / light blue. This will look aquablue in your gif, but in Starcraft this will be red like you wanted.
You can use the eraser tool in paint for mass-applying your color changes, by making color 1 the old gif color and color 2 the color into which you convert -
Example: http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/5334/daexample4jk.png
and the use the eraser with your right mouse button.
Since there are 256 colors in a palette, this may require up to 256 clicks on the picture (aka- not including the time of finding what color is what, and the clicks on the menu) but you'll probably need less, since I doubt your picture has all 256 colors. It probably has less than 64, unless it has rainbows in it...

Heres the pallete in a file.
Use "save as" option in Photohsop and select *.GIF.
When your prompted for the pallete select custom(step1) and brouse your comp for the .pal file(step2)
NOTE: This is the exact pallete of the default title, it worked for me.

It completely sucks when you don't have PS...

You can download a trial version (google it) for a month, if you still haven't. You should.
By the way, good thing you posted that EvilEmpire, I forgot that the title and unit palettes were different...
