So Awesome!!!

Prey Alone. What is it? A mystery. Or a movie, depending on how you look on it. This 15 minute short film made by two Irish directors for about $5000 is probably one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. And I'm not alone, it seems, as the movie has made millions! Not a bad profit. The special effects, done using a green screen on which the whole movie was shot, are absolutely amazing for a project done over weekends. Would love to say more, but I don't want to spoil anything.

Uhm, this cost 80,000 euros to make, thats quite a lot more then 5000 USD.

More like; 101,000 or so USD to make =P

The directing was excellent. I think it was a great short film

Warning: Spoilers Below.

The movie's action I thought was over dramatic. As I was watching it, I predicted nearly half the stuff that was going to happen. (Turning sideeways and shooting the cop car, having it roll over, planes in tunnel, missle locking onto self, etc).

I watched the Google Video, and I pieced together the anagram of Player One and Prey Alone. (It had it written on the right). About 8 minutes into the movie or so (during the chase scene), I figured they were in a game of some sort. My guess was that it was going to end by having people step out of a VR game or something like that.

They did an excellent job though, and it was well done. I'm surprised to see that the entire thing was done on a green screen. That was impressive. Some of the shots gave it away, but it was still extremely well done.

Nah, I took two film classes for my General Ed requirements at college. I took them because they were the easiest way to get out of classes I didn't want to take, but surprisingly, I learned a lot. Because of it, I've been able to critique movies a bit better.

Meh.

I liked the effects, but like BI about a few minutes into it, I realized the truth. Or rather I had a feeling about it.

But then I can dissect any movie while I'm watching it, its very strange, and annoying, and pisses people off when I goto see a horror/thriller/mystery type thing. Lol =D

I did like the movie though, but the story seemed a tad weak.

EDIT: Watched it, enjoyed it. Like Sirion I didn't really realize what was going on, interesting premise and yes, there were some cliches, but still, it was awesome. Well worth the download.
