Hollywood certainly doesn't want anyone to miss going to the movies in the near future, and to top it off next month is the theatrical debut of the third edition of the X-men movie series titled "X-men: 3 The Last Stand."

Take a gander at the movie trailer here (http://movies.msn.com/movies/gallery.aspx?gallery=11682). :)

Edit: Damnit! Can someone change the "t" to a "3" to make it 3rd on the thread title. Thanks.

Been an X-Men comics fan for some time and particularly liked the alternate reality storyline a lot among other things

I'm definitely looking forward to the 3rd movie. :D
Though I hope the guy as Cyclops can do a better job than he did last time :/

I never really liked X-men, but then again, I never really liked any comic book superhero/villain movies.

Well, knowing the X-Men and their universe for about 15 years now I really liked the inherent feel it had against racism, unfortunate related junk and yet still presenting human folks that were up to risk their hides for the common good, although most of the times being scorned by what they uphold/save.

To see the previous movies everytime had to go alone since most of my friends aren't that much up for comics, but will try to see this one as well. ;)

Tiny side note (appreciation): And D_C, thanks for the movie trailers links.

The second trailer on the page is teh own!!
Yes,Thanx for the link DC :D

I think I am going to like watching Sir Ian Mckellen's acting. He seems to have done an excellent job , as has Patrick Stewart.

Awesome DC, I fixed your thread title...

Can't wait for X3, I was never a huge fan (comic book wise) but I loved the old cartoon series... This and the next Spidey movie is what I am looking forward to.

Although, more recently, I can't wait for Advent Children!

Yeah, the old comics were much more interesting imo. I stopped reading the new ones for over 6 years now, although I keep all of'em around the house. :)
That too, let's see what the next Spidey movie stands for us, although am predicting a certain Green Goblin ressurection (from the Osbourne junior). :P

And can you please shed some light onto this matter of the "Advent Children" thingy? Must be living in a cave recently, 'cause I seriously don't know anything 'bout it.

In the next couple of days the Final Fantasy: Advent Children movie should be released on DVD so anyone who is expecting to get their hands on that movie won't have to wait too long. :)

As for the third Spiderman instalment, I am also waiting in anticipation to go see that as well. ;)

Along with those two I wouldn't mind seeing the rather low budget movie, The Legend of Zelda: The Hero of Time (sometime in the fall, I think) as well as the next Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest later.

I checked it out and had to laugh when I saw Link. He just looks too pretty-boy fake to me. Ganondorf looks pretty good, though. I'll still see it, just because I like Zelda so much. Hopefully it'll turn out good. Thanks for alerting me to it.

I loved the Xmen comic, and thus I'm pretty excited about X3. I'm more excited about X3 than I was for X1, because of the several loose ends in X1 that fans can spot. For instance, Colossus is a teenager and apparently a junior member?! Sabretooth is skinny and lacks display of his real strength, Wolverine is disproportionately strong and lacks a lot of the finesse and skill that makes him "the best at what he does".

The only thing I didn't like about the X3 trailer I saw was that Juggernaut was all fucked up. He's got an overly simple costume, people. Please explain to me how you could turn that into a motorcycle helmet and some vin diesel lookalike. Get Dwayne Johnson on roids or don't put him up there. He's HULK LEVEL STRENGTH, PEOPLE! Ugh.

Excuse my rants, I'm a big fan.

I can't seem to be able to download the trailer, but I watched it anyway.

Neither can I really say that I'm an "X men" fan, but the movies are enjoyable to watch so I will definately watch this in the cinema. Its hard to believe, but I've never actually seen an X man movie in the cinema... only on DVD. I'll start with this one. :) The old cartoon series on this "Cheese TV" thing were the best, I used to watch those every day before I went to school. That would be unthinkable now. ;)

On a side note: Magneto has always been my favourite character. He is so wonderfully played by Ian McKellen. And he has such great classic lines which are delivered so well.

I know how ya feel. The fight between Wolvie and Lady DeathStrike on the 2nd flick kinda disappointed me. I was expecting a much larger cat fight. :P

Oh and that guy was meant to be Juggernaut!?! Gimme a break! >_<
Eh, join the club. Been following'em and Spidey for a long time too. But in here it's editing company had a few ups and downs, allied with some good bounces and that was one of the main reasons (if not the biggest) on why I stopped buying the comics. :concern:

Althgough those cartoons we're cool and fine I saw that many things weren't on par with the books, so I really never kept a good track on those. :shiftyl:

Yeah, some of the dumb stuff they do with comics is what made me stop too. I still regret not having bought a lifetime subscription to Batman. It has been one comic that has retained its validity and good writing.

From DC Comics is still one that somewhat grasps my interest. Especially with it's dark side exploit. :) But wth do I know? I never liked that much for DC characters mostly due to the less human perspertive factor their heroes had. :P

Ok, I have a serious question. Is Senator Kelly actually dead? He turned into a pool of water in the first movie and was replaced by Mistique. Magneto says "did you see what you thought you saw?" Is Senator Kelly actually dead... or is turning into water part of his mutant power? I remember on the Xmen cartoons that one of them could turn themselves into water.

I can't believe they took off nightcrawler from X3....i mean c'mon!!! he can do the whole 'POOF tada! warp thingy!' and i dunno about any of u, but i find that he sounds really cool when he is saying the prayer in his german accent

Why'd they take the Nightcrawler?
*POTENTIAL SPOILER*
I reckon Jean Grey isn't dead and will come back as Pheonix.
I wanna se Patrick Stewart kick more ass.
And I agree with who ever said that about Senator Kelly...waht did happen to him...hmm, the mystery.
And I hope Storm dies.

Kelly is dead, didn't yall pay attention?

Thats the whole reason they went to stop Magneto in the first place, because changing people into mutants would eventually kill them.

I think the whole "did you see what you thought you saw" was in relation to something else, or perhaps to Mystique herself, what with being a changeling.

He turned into a giant pool of water. If he really died.... I don't think it would be like that. That machine is not going to turn everyone into water. And I'm almost certain that one of the mutants on the cartoon series actually did have the ability to turn into water. The "are you sure you saw what you thought you saw" line was actually a reference to that, in my opinion. Maybe in one scene in an X-men movie in the future, Mystique (2nd coolest ability, only to Magneto) in Kelly's body will be shocked to find the real one burst in on her.

Jean Grey seems to be back as apparently Famke Janseen is a member of the cast. That would imply that she has "survived." It would be pretty interesting to see her come back.

And I hope Storm dies.

No. :twak:

Something else I remember about the cartoon. Rogue was an adult, and could fly. And she didn't steal powers by touching other people either. Maybe she stole it all from another mutant before killing him/her and losing the death touch ability herself. That random guy with giant white swan wings does not appear to offer me any promises, though.

Pyro went off with Magneto at the end of the second movie. So does that mean he's living in that mansion again as well? And he's one of the villains who'll be involved in the next plot? Actually, it appears that the next plot will have the humans as the villains, again. Fighting against a "cure" to mutation. If I had super powers, I wouldn't want them "cured."

"They seek to cure us. But I tell you, we are the cure!!"

Storm is my favourite character, why would anyone want her dead.

Senator Kelly has been turned into a mutant. Whether or not he survived the transformation or ultimately died is pretty much unsolved. Regardless, because of his transition, he pretty much disappeared from public eye from shame, guilt, etc. etc. and Mystique pretty much just did a quick ruination of his career while he was AWOL.

...The effect magneto used to force Kelly into a mutant was not a permenant effect -- it was also unstable.

Kelly was already dieing, I would strongly doubt that he could magically come back from that. Besides didnt Jean mention something about him losing cohesion... or some such like that?

It would be a pretty stupid plot twist at any rate, kelly didn't like mutants, why the hell would he magically come back to life and become an xman?

And of course Jean is back, that'd be pretty stupid to setup the pheonix plot and then leave her out -_-;;

Did Magneto even say that to Storm? Because she was the only one who was actually there with kelly when he died.

What he said was in reference to Mystique... not kelly. I mean what else could it mean? Kelly was a pawn, nothing more. He wasnt in on some big plan, and if there was even a chance of him being alive, don't you think they would've brought it up in the second movie?

I just want to see gambit... or something. They've left out some really cool xmen/villians that I hope they add a couple to X3... >_<!

That random guy with giant white swan wings does not appear to offer me any promises, though.

"That guy with wings" was one of the founding members of X-Men back in their initial glory days fighting Magneto and his Mutant League... and yep, it even started before Wolvie joined the 'gang'. Just for the record, he did managed to save'em quite a few times as well and being a millionaire he was the one with the bucks to launch n' keep the X-Factor team (Cyclops, Marvel Girl [aka Jeanie G.], IceMan, Angel and Beast if not mistaken) while it lasted. :P

And the rest is as they say... history. :)
