So, it's about time I ring true to my username I suppose. Who around here likes to dance? Any kind of dancing is fun for me usually. I doubt any of you guys do ballet, but I'm interested to find out what other kinds of dancing you gamers do, if any. I know that GrassDragon likes to dance, we both went to a dance class tonight and were learning how to salsa. :D

You bring the camera, I don't have one. And I can't say if I agree with your opinion of yourself or not, I couldn't see you, and I haven't danced with you yet. I'm pretty much awesome as well, just not as awesome as Zane's mom likes to tell people I am. I hope we end up doing some more impressive moves though. As much as normal girls get bored of the basic step, I get bored with the "Cross-body lead" or whatever it was.

Would head-banging be a type of dance? If so that's fun.
Haha, yeah, why not?
Hurts after a while though...
*goes to dictionary.com*

no appeal. the only thing i do body movement-wise for music is like tap my feet, or my hands, or my head. me dancing is probably laughable, at best.

Head-banging doesnt hurt if you do it the right way. You have to mover your whole upper body with your head so that your neck doesnt get as much of a hurting. But it still gives ya a headache lol

I can't dance worth beans. Never really tried really. Well, at dances, where like 200 people stand and sway back and forth kind of dance at a crowded gymnasium HS dance, yeah I've done that.

oh my gosh! so sad. :)
salsa is fun. mostly when i dance its grinding against another girl, all i really have to do is sway back and forth while she does all the work
but i did cotillion/etiquette school/whatever you call it when i was younger.
I've been encouraged to dance many times but alas i can not dance. I simply have no rythm.
I like dancing. I did ballet for 6 years or so and then I did jazz for a year but I didn't like it.
Graeme knows how to waltz, unfortunately due to my lack of grace I have a hard time following his lead and we usually end up getting hurt.
Usually when dancing, I just kinda wiggle about, not much of a dance step but a good wiggle never hurt anyone.

I DANCE!
Now, if people appreciate it, is a whole different matter.
I'm most famous for my BreakYourNeckDance! A mate of mine seriously does do breakdance, and that's my way of poking fun at him.
Also, me and another mate also are big fans of Crumpling, which is a bit like crump, the most idiotic excuse for a dance I've ever heard of (sorry if you're into that stuff)
The basics are just to pull at your clothes and limbs of you and bystanders in the weirdest poses.
But serious dancing I guess I'm not bad at, I could do a moonwalk! But not anymore sadly.
And slowdancing with a girl, well...not much skill involved really, just approach your prey (which can be a great source of protein in difficult circumstances) and give her 'the look' (if you don't know what I'm talking about, you're not the only one) and you can get anyone you like in no time!

Sometimes I can dance, sometimes not. Most of the time the movements are too close to kinetic memory I have reserved for kung fu stuff. So the dip turns into a half horse-stance type thing and it doesn't really work out. I do some mean disco dancing, though.
...mostly at work whenever people aren't looking.

Um, if moshing is a style of dance I've been in a few circle pits in my time. It's kinda like moving to the rhythm.
Also, for my english project last year I did an interpretive dance to trumpet music that my friend Steve played. The subject of the dance was the book All the King's Men. It was pretty much ridiculous and I'm glad there is no film evidence.
Oh, then there are dance parties here on campus. Usually I tend to avoid those like the plague but nothing is more entertaining than me trying to grind on a girl when I'm very, very intoxicated. I remember one time I was dancing with a girl and had to use a wall with support. It was funnier because she was sober. That night ended well.
No, seriously, we made out.

Exactly. It's 92 degrees. In the spring.
My friend can grind pretty well, and once I asked her how she learned. She told me that I had taught her a few years before. I completely didn't remember (though I do now, it was in 7th grade. I was such a dweeb.). I have serious doubts about my grinding skills now, but my friends still insist I'm the only one among them who can actually do it. I don't really have dances to go to though, so I've yet to put my "skills" into action.

I love to dance! I don't really have a style, I just do it, it's fun. People say I look like I'm doing hip hop when I dance, so that'd be the general style I fit into. I'd love to learn how to dance properly one day though.
hahaha grinding was such the cool thing to do in grade 9!!

Being more or less homeschooled, I don't have a homecoming dance to go to. Homecoming was a couple of months ago anyway. I don't have a prom to go to either, which kind of makes me sad. One of my friends wanted to take me to hers, but they told her that she isn't supposed to bring just a friend, and it's a Catholic school, so I can't exactly go as her girlfriend either.

Welcome to the world of humor, TD. Things such as attempting to posit knowledge that is nearly impossible to obtain or possess are meant as stabs at jest. You can shake it girl! :P
Do I detect a hint of sarcasm? Or were my hips actually moving that much?
Edit: I meant to say more about yesterday anyway.
Everyone started out with their original partners for most of the class, while we reviewed what we had learned, and learned the Cha Cha (not the Cha Cha Cha, there is no such thing. :P). Once pretty much everyone had gotten the steps right, the instructor guy said that we should switch partners. Kyle (my partner) and I were close to GrassDragon and his partner, so I just said to Jennifer (GD's partner), "Wanna trade? Kyle's pretty good." and she said "Sure, sounds fine." so we did. Once we were standing there, the instructor guy was all like "Why are the girls doing all the asking? That ain't right, the girls should be able to stand in one place and wait for a guy to come to them! So guys, go ask another girl. Girls, stay where you are." So then GD offered his hand, and said "Want to dance?" and Kyle did the same thing. Pretty simple.
Then the instructor guy decided to mix things up, by not telling us what dance we were supposed to do. He just turned on the music, and waited for us to figure it out. Me and GD used our collective music-counting skills to figure it out really quickly every time. It was crowded where we were though, so right after he started the first song we moved to the middle of the room, which was empty. In the middle of the second dance (Rumba if I remember right) the instructor guy came over and was all like "Good, good. Really good." I think he was proud of us for moving to the middle, because no one else would. Lol.
Wah, that was a crazy long post. Anyway, it was a lot of fun.

Anyway, even though this post is getting a bit old, I definitely went out last night to a party that had a lot of dancing. I was danced upon until I found myself tanked and unable to resist the beats. I danced with this one girl I know and she somehow headbutted me, hit the barbel in my eyebrow and popped the ball off, causing my barbel to fall to the floor and me to have to drunkenly feel around peoples' feet to find it.
This is why I don't dance. Seriously, how did I get headbutted.
