I dont think you are using a cable MODEM. Most likely it is cable internet. You should not have to register for anything new. Just try to get on battlenet through SC and it should work fine. You can still use your regular account and everything. It will just go faster =)

No you guys dont understand what im talking about. Ill get on starcraft go to Battle.net as i get on multiplayer and this comes up :
Unable to connect to Battle.Net. IF you are using a modem to access your servixe provider and are not configured for Dailup Networking, you may have to initiate the connection manually.
Those are the exact work. Im sure that i have cable internet.

If it only shows querying something or other, then it means your internet isn't working. If it gets further then that, then it's something else.

You may check the support section of Blizz's site. Maybe you're having port issues.

I have problems sometimes. When I try to log on it says querying gateway, and it will usually stay like that. It only happens if I have not been to B-Net in a while though. Just close the program and try again and it works for me.
Do you have a firewall, either as a software program or an hardware one, on your PC? :o Or even an Anti-Virus app that might act as one?
'Cause when I'm up for playing at B.Net usually I must 'unplug' my firewall from the system 'cause it jams a lot/prevents my connections from happening. :P
As for the A.V., I had to set it up in order to allow the SC.exe to access the 'Net. And although I could do the same with my firewall I don't just because of the hassle it causes and to prevent unauthorized connections later on. ;)

hm... i agree with basan, I myself dont have a firewall or any virus protection.. But when i log on at my friends house, they have the same issues..
Maybe you have turn off the anti-virus before you log on?
No, simply don't turn off the A.V. And please don't pay him attention on this one. Glad_2_b_Stoned is simply getting up for another lapidation (http://www.tfd.com/lapidation) real soon if he keeps this m.o. :P
Tampering the firewall to allow the site/app, yes (or closing it only while playing). ;) Messing with the A.V. guard checker to get him offline, no.
