I don't think so.
Noone has been able to post anything on the site's forums for quite some time (more than 2-3 months). That alone indicated that something was terribly wrong... I'm not surprised they brought the site down... Perhaps they couldn't afford it or they got bored. Whatever...
(btw, my first post!)
SCL (http://www.sclegacy.com/) hasn't got hi-jacked, but instead might be suffering from the same server problems that were originated at BF (http://www.blizzforums.com/) a couple of months back (read, since January '06). Afterall, they belong to the same network and the staff at the time stated that they were having server issues (for the 2nd time in 1/2 year :P). And even though SC.org has a SCL spotlight on it's entering page, it's in no way connected to that network.
Here, the sites belong to the Org Network as you probaly noticed by the above bar presented on top of each page from all the network's sites. So welcome on board, you two, and may you have a blast of a good time around here as most members do. ;)

BF goes to "PingCity" too... Maybe they've just said the hell with it and taken the sites down?

Bad news indeed. Project Revolution (http://revolution.wc3campaigns.com/) is down too. As I remember, sclegacy & revolution were planning on some co-operation :/
Btw, a random thought: what if all major starcraft fan sites closed? Would that fasten the making of SC2?
all major sites won't close, sclegacy might be ONE but that's all. we still have english sites like gosugamers and pgtour and wgtour etc.
It seems SC:L is experiencing the same problems as the old BF, due to the linked database. As a response, we've shut everything down to try and repair it. I will be posting updates for those who are interested when I can.
Also, PR moved to a new domain:
http://www.wc3campaigns.net/revolution/
We will still be running the multiphase PR feature. You'll love it. :)

SC:L will not be closing. As it stands now, we still are on track to continue developing our site. If it comes to it, we will totally renew. We are commited to bringing our signature style, service, and sense to the community.
Please bear with us in this mechanical problem, and have a great day!

Pardon the 20 questions quiz', but who are ya Rise? :o I don't recall anyone working on both.
Me thinks you haven't been to our site in the past while :P I'm the guy handling all the Project: Revolution stuff, as well as post of the public relations. I'm also running the Strat Section, now. In terms of BF, I let the full Admins there do their job while I do odds and ends.
