Hey guys, I'm playing Warcraft III Reign of Thrones on a Mac and I've got all the right system specs and what not, and the game plays fine except for one thing. When I go over an area that is blackened out, it will "blink" between being completely black and being the fog of war. Anyone know how I can fix this, or even what the problem is?

I don't really understand this - yes a screenshot would help lol

I'd have to show you a video, not a screenshot. Basically, normally in Warcraft, there are three vision modes. You have pitch blackness around areas you've never been to. Then you have the opaque fog of war around areas you've been to but aren't currently in. You can see things like buildings and terrain, but not forces. Then, finally, there's the active area, the places where you have units and can see everything.

In the areas that are supposed to be black, areas I've never been to, my game will rapidly switch between pitch black and the greying fog of war.

Wait a minute... I think I found the solution. I turned all the graphical settings to low, and the problem went away. Of course that would have been the obvious thing to do, I can't believe I didn't try that first. I thought my graphics card was good enough for the higher animation, though. Maybe it's a processor speed issue. In any case, I'll let you know if it happens again, though I hope this has fixed it permantly, as it's an excellent game.

If it's anything to do with processor speed - as a benchmark, I have a 2.4 Ghz and can run it at high settings without any problems. If it happens again, try the Technology Annex, because they tend to have more technical know-how than us measly underlings.

Similar to RedRag' here, I do have a Pentium IV at 2,4 GHz and can run WC3-TFT with extremely high resolution settings but not all, even though it does go pretty well. ;)

And the guilty party for not having a full blast experience from RoC and it's what not? Blame my laptop's old graphic card for it and maybe the graphic harware is the one that it's really ruining your gaming experience right there. :P
