This thread got split off from this one (http://www.warboards.org/showthread.php?t=15280). - Jeff

Let's just say our guild is getting really lucky, yet we can't even down Razorgore, even though we have two Thunderfuries, half the main raid force with at least 6 of 8 Tier 1, the rest with mostly Epics (Hell, I've not been there much, and a good 90% of my stuff is MC / ZG purple and blue), and we *still* can't down Razorgore... The strat is so simple, the way we do it seems near flawless, but for some reason, something always goes wrong...

kongurous, you'd know more than I would about it, what the hell is wrong with us? >.<;

Oh, and for reference, the boss in AQ20? I hate him. With a passion. He critted my Druid for 9k *Cries*

...All while I was in Moonkin form...

...With about 8k armor buffed...

...And I cranked on my barksin, giving more damage mitigation, still leading to death...

P.S. *Goes to curl up in a corner*

Geno, Razorgore is the ONE encounter that I'd say the horde have the advantage in (shamans.) The razorgore encounter is a pain in the ass, you need someone who is super fast with the orb and if you don't have one or two already two guys who will get the controller to sleep any lose dragonkins.

Just to be sure you are doing this.

First off, don't touch legos, kite them just keep running around and around and around, you can use your stairs to your advantage and basically make it so that the legos never touch you (although lose legionnaires are a bitch)

Have rogues/mages/spare hunters running around killing mages asap. These things are what owns your guild.

Also note that you can use the orb from directly below it, which is the safest place for the controller.

Sleep/chain fear the dragons using every warlock and druid you have. And have two other people with assist macros to pick off any additional dragons, I think razorgore can sleep like 6 dragons or something I'm not exactly sure of the number.

I'm on aim if you ever wanna talk razorgore strategy. Its a huge pain in the ass

The final boss in AQ20 requires you to use the crystals that appear around the area. Once you activate the crystal the boss will receive a debuff for 30 seconds that makes him weak against a certain spell type (e.g. arcane). Also he needs to be within range for the crystal to hit him.

Once he has the debuff on him, tanks will lead him to the next crystal and someone will need to activate it. You'll probably end up with two debuffs making him weak to two types of spells.

All you have to do is run around to the crystals and keeping the debuff on him. You should have someone with an epic mount that will scout for the crystals and ping the map so everyone knows where to go.

You'll have to do damage and heal on the run most of the time.

There is also a whirlwind that goes around too. You should stay away from those as they do around 2000-3000 damage and knocks you back. If healers get knocked back then the tank might die while he is moving.

The whole point of the fight is to keep the debuff on him at all times or he will one shot everyone.

Oh and the best drop I ever had that I can sell was Kang the Decapitator. I think it around 400g.

Razorgore? Pshaw!

To kill Razorgore, you must first secure the Orb on the left side of the room, which you can use to mind-control Razorgore. Then, you must make Razorgore destroy all the eggs in the room, and finally you will be able to fight Razorgore. Sounds easy, eh? One thing to remember though: once you've begun your attack, the room will begin to fill with dozens of orcs and dragonkin, who will either attack your raid or Razorgore. And if Razorgore dies before the eggs are all destroyed, he will cast a AoE spell that will kill everything in the room.

There are many ways to approach the encounter, including kiting, mind controlling, and fear rotations. There are 3 types of mobs in the enounter: dragonkin(very heavy meleers), legionnaires(heavy melee orcs), and mages(also orcs). The dragonkin are very powerful, so many argue it is best to crowd control these with sleep effects and fears rather than facing them. Others try to tank them, which is possible but requires an unbalanced raid. Legionnaires can be feared, sheeped, sapped, etc, but many prefer to kite them. Mages deal great amounts of damage to the raid with AoE spells but are fairly weak. Mages can be mind controlled to use their AoE spells or simply eliminated by the raid. They cannot be kited. With no interuptions on the controller, eggs should be cleared in just over 5 minutes, after which Razorgore will reset to full health.

Razorgore himself is not tauntable. He has a conflag spell which introduces the need to have multiple tanks on him at all times. Constant healing and slow DPS are key to killing Razorgore. No one should generate more aggro than the tanks at any time.

Your raid makeup should be like so: well-balanced raid with good skills, good gear, at least 5 priests and 5 warriors. Warriors with fire/arcane resist a bonus. Someone familiar with controlling Razorgore with the orb and using his attacks helps.

Strategy: Group charges Grethok the Controller. MT grabs controller. One tank grabs right guard. Another tank grabs left guard.

DPS kills controller, then each guard. DPS positions themselves with even # groups south of control platform, odd # groups north of control platform. Hardy class uses orb to control Razorgore to destroy the eggs on his platform first, then work himself from south to north on the remaining eggs. Also work on using his fire balls and his AoE taunt to gather aggro away from raid.

Main damage on Razorgore is from legionnaire cleave, so raid tries to keep them off Razorgore.

Following sequence after guards/Grethok dies:

1. Rogues attack Blackwing Mages
2. Warriors train adds around with Piercing Howl, Hunters assist with Traps. Horde can use this with their earthbind totems to make the encounter easier.
3. Control platform kept clear so mage AoE doesn't kill or break channeling of orb user.
4. Warriors/Priests/Warlocks use fear-bombs when adds are overly clumped for breathing space, but don't rely on it. Fear rotations can help, but are a crutch.
5. Orb controller should be breaking eggs non stop almost, only use his AE to pull aggro off the raid if you really have to.
6. DPS classes should focus on stun-locking/interrupting mages and bringing them down fast.

Once all eggs are down, adds will leave. Tanks with fire resist attack Razorgore from the front and back of him. He should be tanked in the corner of the room closest to where the last egg was destroyed. Razorgore is immune to taunts and mocking blow. When the north tanks are hit by conflaguration, Razorgore should attack south tanks. This is hard to maintain however. An alternative is to kite Razorgore around the map spreading out and using ranged dps.

Razorgore has a powerful multi-fireball attack which seems randomly targetted, and a fire breath frontal-cone attack which hits for several ticks of 1000 damage to all targetted while target runs around uselessly.

This should be a almost all ranged fight, like fighting an Onyxian Warder. Keep the 2 tanks alive and work him down with ranged DPS. Mages, Hunters and Warlocks, this all up to you so try and stay alive during the fight.

Oh, and the limit for orcs in the room is 40, and the orb can only be controlled from below the platform. And trust me... the rest of BWL is hard. Nefarian is a bitch, especially for pallies. Why? When he calls out the paladins... he makes one of us cast Blessing of Protection him.
