I'm thinking of just going ahead and spending the money for a Something Awful account or worth1000.com account because I like contests... but I don't feel like spending money on entering something that I will not get money for if I win...
anyone know anywhere I can enter photoshop contests for free (besides uncyclopedia)?

this is gonna be the oddest bitch but here goes:
Original Image by someone else (at full quality)
http://uncyclopedia.org/images/1/1b/Wordprocessor.png
My remake of the image (at full quality; because during voting people were complaining of the size of the original)
http://uncyclopedia.org/images/e/e0/Microchop.png
My question is, if people are complaining about resolution and size issues on an image and someone fixes them, why wouldn't they vote for the new fixed image?
I have a whole BUNCH of redone images that are much better quality but since I seem to redo alot of images, I get alot of flak from some of the users who made the original images, case in point is user PiOfFive who came up with the idea for a "Marx-A-Lot" pen but alot of complaints over bad source images led me to remake a better version and make an endorsement advertisement (which was a better pun than just the pen by itself)
example:
Original (at full quality)

My first remake (at full quality; I completely created from scratch in photoshop :) )
http://uncyclopedia.org/images/b/ba/Marx_a_lot.jpg
My remake as an endorsement (at full quality)
