So as I'm gonna stop foruming I thought I'd give you guys some bad news before I left.

Blizzard Entertainment(R) Focuses Console-Development Plans on Next-Gen Platforms
IRVINE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—March 24, 2006—Blizzard Entertainment Inc. today announced plans to focus the company’s console-development efforts on the next generation of console platforms. As part of this shift in focus, Blizzard(R) will indefinitely postpone production on StarCraft: Ghost(TM) while evaluating opportunities for utilizing the additional power of the new and upcoming console systems.
“Like many in the industry, we’ve been impressed with the potential of the new consoles, and we’re looking forward to exploring that potential further,” stated Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “In addition to allowing us to determine the best course for StarCraft: Ghost, this review period will help us lay the groundwork for our future console games.”
In the months ahead, Blizzard will further evaluate the next-gen console technology and determine the best plan of action for offering a StarCraft(R) console-gaming experience that meets the company’s expectations and those of its players. Further specifics on plans for StarCraft: Ghost and Blizzard’s future console games, as well as platform and release information, will be revealed at a later date.
Starcraft Ghost is being postponed until further notice and probably wont be coming out for current gen consoles.

I had a wierd feeling inside me that said Ghost wouldn't be coming out any time soon. good thing I didn't have my hopes set on it.
I wonder if/how this is going to effect people who pre-ordered theirs for current gen consoles <_<

Well that sucks. I understand Blizzard is trying to make this the best game possible, but come on. You have to actually put out a product for it to be the best ever.

I dont understand why Blizzard has to drag their feet soo much. if they had released it when they said they would, then this would have never been an issue. When Swinging Ape took control in 2004, they should of turned the game to go both ways.. one for the nextgen and one for the current generation of consoles. I could really care less if the game, graphically was the best there ever way, just as long as the gameplay follows something along the lines of all these trailers I keep seeing. But seriously, this is a super bummer...... guess we should re-think that betting-pool? :D

If Blizzard whants to keep it so it'll be soo great then they might as well and save it for the Playstation 12! Blizzard was sapposed to release StarCraft: Ghost in 2002. StarCraft fans is patient for SC II sence Blizzard made StarCraft in 1998 and I'm dieng for another StarCraft game. I already advance purchased by copy at Amazon and been waiting for it for over a year and they decided to pull it off once more. :<
That was predictable. I guess blizzard came to the realistic conclusion that if they put it for X box and PS2 it would be outdated and considered a failure. But the 360 is truely an amzing console and will make Ghost many times better.

Except that by the time they develop it for the 360 a newer system will have come out because they take so long.

Forget not the fact that 360 owns hard. I think PS3 looks something like one of those aliens of Alien. If not, then their controllers do for sure.

The PS3 controller has not been confirmed as the official controller yet. And I guarantee they'll probably give you a version of the dual shock 2 as well.
Small plaque in the tokyo game fair said 'conceptual design.' Don't expect to have to use the boomerang if you don't want to.

Well hopefully they'll ge it right the first try this time.

I just downloaded all the SC: Ghost videos at video.google before something happens to them.
Just wondering, if Blizzard wanted to make there games great, then why did they down graded StarCraft so it would work for the earlier computers, when they made beta, they had a much stronger engine and everything. They're doing the opposite now.
I'm sick of it!

Blizzard learned the hard way that they cannot take five years to make a game for the consoles, because by the time it finally comes out, that console is now outdated. Doing that with PC is ok because, well, the PC as a plateform isn't outdated, just everyone's hardware is ^_^.
I wonder if they would consider just "porting" it to the PC and be done with it. Or put it on the next gen consoles.
/oh, I want the SC:Ghost!

Meh, I had mixed feelings towards SC:Ghost.
On the one hand, perhaps they should have better spent the time, money, and energy making SC2 or another game. Also, it would probably have turned out to be a Halo clone.
On the other hand, SC FPS = awesome.

B1x, has hit the nail on the head, they don't give a s--t about SC at all they think since they have WOW they have got it made. Blizzard is really thinking of the money $15 a month to play WOW plus the game is what $60. You can buy the war cheast of SC for what $20 to $25 now and it's free to play it on line, there loosing money on SC. They want the money that's all, they don't care about nothing else. If they would pull there heads out of there a-- and smell the SC they could still make money. Everyone wants a SC2 that alone would bring in more money, hell I would buy it for $60 + if they would bring it out. SC is the first real video game I ever bought and I love that game. They need to think of the peeps that made them that money and give something back. Instead of Warcraft give us some thing for StarCraft. OK, I'm done and I'll get of the soap box.

They still care enough to put out patches to lower hacking and cheating players.
They still care enough not to let out Ghost when it would just end up being lame.
They still care enough to not make a lame SC2 with WC3 level graphics.
They still care enough to take all the insults that people like you give them, rather than making a dissapointing SC2.
They still care enough to put quality into ALL of their games.
They still care enough to not release the lame games instead of releasing them to try and make up a loss.
They still care enough to make Starcraft 2 PERFECT.
Blizzforums has a rule that guards against blizzard bashing posts like yours.
I think warboards should adapt a similar policy.

Yeah, well if it isn't gonna be for current-gen, I'll have to do all the bugging/begging for a PS3! Which I doubt I'd get!
Heheheh, to be fair, people dont expect Blizzard to come close to release dates. Although when they DO get games out they tend to be pretty good.
I have to wonder why they tried to jump on the console bandwagon knowing their deadline records as they do :P
Still, it will be good when it gets here.

frazz, Sorry if I have offended you in any way, that's my opinion and that's how I feel. Blizzard has brought out a lot of good games. I think they have waited so long to put any thing out for SC it's time to bring out something.
