This is what I ended up with at the end of the game of DotA that I just played. I was playing Lion at the time.

(Note: I know movespeed from boots doesn't stack, boots of travel was lategame so I could teleport to the enemy's base more quickly because we were just about to win it)

Anyway, this was obviously a ridiculous game and all of my teammates were pretty decent (for once in a pub), except for one that fed the opposing team, giving him a score of 0//9 by the end of the game. The rest of us were all 10+//0-2 in score. In the end, my best money-making game ever :P.

So out of curiosity, what has your best item yield been in a game of DotA?

I and my team always go for Divine Rapier! And the Mask of Madness! These are best items and you can take out towers almost Single Handed!

I played a game with Silencer once, using my uber build (Buckler/Headdress/Midas/Mekansm) and had something like 15-1 at the end, my only ever Beyond Godlike streak. I think by the end I had Level 3 Necro, Level 3 Dagon, Mekansm, Midas, Divine Rapier and Skadi. It was pretty fun.

There was also, just because you didn't ask, a game where my team went 30-0 in total. Funnily, they all stayed, and we were at 30-0 when we finished them off. It's the quickest game I've ever played, something like 20 minutes. I actually have the replay. :P

Hmm. I've played some that pretty much came down to heroes turning away waves of creeps. I think I ended up with Two Butterflies, an Aegis, Power Treads, Buriza, and a MKB.

I'll recommend DotA Extreme, cause it's got AI.. So.. Better thing always is.. Watch and Learn.. AI in DotA extreme is almost human like, though Heroes are different...

DotA- Allstars is a big guy! Expect tough challange..
Normally on Kalimdor server, You'll find a custom game called "DotA Noobs Only" Train yourself from that map.. Otherwise arrange a custom game in B.net or at Local Cafe'

For DotA allstars, I'll recommend you beginnner's hero to be Lich.
If DotA extreme, Try Allpick mode and take Life Stealer, That's the simplese hero.. To learn all basics of DotA..

Don't go for Items till you know how to play well, survive and escape, Make a frag... Since u only control your hero.. Level of Micro Management is expected to be high!

Btw, can I play solo without goin' into B.Net for a couple test runs before getting pounded to heavilly ove there? ;) And am asking this 'cause am rather rookie at B.Net play.

umm, i've been playing this map a few times lately, and it's fun, the only problem is that you spent such a huge amount of time, for maybe 30 or smth really cool moments, which last like 20 seconds each.
it's kind of boring in this way, but well, its nice to kill dead moments when i dont feel like playing melee

From the couple I've tested out it was the one I liked the most and for a few reasons. The colouring helps a lot to distinguish what's needed to activate that item and what it enhances on the hero, the foe AI settled in and the options to pick at start with lanes and all that jazz. :) My only regret is that you can't select those when playing for the Scourge side. :P

I only wished to be able to make WC3-TFT maps such as that. ;)

I, in the past, have wanted to, but I have no game creation skills. I made an offer to the forum that I would design ideas and such for all the heroes if someone would make the map, triggers, and actually create the heroes. No one stepped up. Can't say I blame them.

Welcome to Warboards.

I have two different builds for Venomancer. When I'm playing pubbies against completely ordinary opposition, I'll do my funny mass ward build (Basilus/Perseverance/Refresher/Agahnim's) with Ward/Sting/Ward/Sting/Ward/Nova/Sting and then levelling up Shadow Strike to get mid-game nukes.

The second build is the Strike/Nova build, with high mana regen items such as Basilus, mana pool items such as Talismans early on and then perhaps a Refresher and Hyperstone to drill the poison home, levelling SS and Sting up early on.

Percentage increases have diminishing returns, so a 25% increase plus another 25% increase equals a total 31.25% increase. Just thought I'd point that out. So your increased attack speed in total was only something like a 48.81825% increase attack speed. I forget the exact figure.

Was just going to point that out :P. Lion== impale + hex + guinoo's = 10 seconds of time to pound on Razor + finger of death == :(. Of course, a smart Razor with that build would enter the battles late so that people don't focus fire on him.

I'm inclined to say that these figures are wrong. You'll get a much higher increase than 6% for the first double-up. After I get a minute, I'll see if I can fix this.

Whenever you hear this, what it means is that a certain effect has an increased percentage, but not directly increased. If you have 20% of something, and an item or skill that gives another 20% of that something, if it stacks diminishingly, it will not equal 40%!

The way to work out diminishing returns is to use this formula:

T = C/100 + (100-C)/100 * E/100

T is the Total percent, C is the Current percent, and E is the Extra percent.

For example, if you have a melee hero with 25% bash and buy the item Cranium Basher, the extra 15% bash stacks diminishingly. To work out the total percent, use the formula:

T = 0.25 + (100-25)/100 * 0.15
= 0.25 + 0.75 * 0.15
= 0.25 + 0.1125
= 0.3625

The total bash percent would be 36.25%. If you added another Cranium Basher, to work out the bash percentage, again apply the formula. Note that the Current Percent is changed to 36.25%

T = 0.3625 + (100-36.25)/100 * 0.15
= 0.3625 + 0.6375 * 0.15
= 0.3625 + 0.095625
= 0.458125

The total bash percent would then be 45.8125%.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. You were off by an order of 3, which is pretty significant, and why I was able to spot it.

I mean, 25% + 25% isn't going to equate a 6% increase under any circumstances. :S
