Try to not think about penguins.
This is especially hard, because by trying too much, you remember what you were trying to avoid thinking of. If you try too little, you end up thinking about penguins anyway.

I had some friends that played a game similar to this but they just called it "The Game." If you think about the game, you lose. I never really understood what the fascination was with playing this game though...
It's impossible to go long without thinking about penguins if this thread is here, eh? :P

Another trick is to set the time when you're going to start not thinking about penguins and by that time have fallen asleep. I don't know if this is in the rules though...

Horrible in the way that I fell asleep during the film. It didn't hold my intrest at all.
I have nothing against documentaries. This sounds nerdy, I heart Discovery channel ! Meh :concern:

Maybe's its from imagining the cold, you know, try not to think about penguins and you inevitably do think about them, but because penguins live in the cold your body doesn't the mind over matter trick on you.

...an even better way to beat it is stick a nine mil in your mouth and pull the trigger while not thinking of zebras... That way you know FOR SURE that you won't think of the animal that you can't think of.
