I'm afraid it was a closed source project. EXEtoMPQ got me everything except the pat file. I can run it with TC assistant, but the SG part doesn't work.

It didn't look given up on to me! :o It's the best and most complet TC I've ever played. Also, I was under the asumtion that it was only for version 1.07. On a side note, some of the extra spells they created -- did they make them from scratch or are they hidden somewhere in starcraft? I say this because as far as I can remember, they had one that was called "afterburners" and it was a terran ship upgrade that functioned somewhat like stimpacks. The icons for it are still in starcraft, so I was wondering if the spell itself was too.

AfterBurners were the terran ship stim packs. They were removed from the beta just like dark archon, mind control, lurker, valkyrie and all otha broodwar units..If you want a good link to a beta page, go look at the beta threads.Lots of pics, and lots and lots of info..

Ok, I apologize for not being able to attach an mpq or anything, but anyone who has ever had dial-up will understand my predicament. Yes, I still have dial-up. The mpq that results is 16·3MB and there is no way I'll upload that.

Anyway, the steps which I've tested a few times (ok, twice) to make Sickel playable, are as follows:

Download and install the Sickel TC
Run sic.exe (inside your SC folder). Just click [OK] to the error message.
If you don't get one, you are one of the lucky ones who are running 1.07 BW on a Win9x platform. In that case, skip to step 16. :confused: Also, why are you be reading this?
Copy the !secwad.exe and !sepatch.pat to a nice safe place in case you stuff up somewhere
Run EXE 2 MPQ on !secwad.exe
Rename !secwad.mpq (or whatever EXE 2 MPQ called it) to something like Sickel.mpq
Open up Memgraft (version of your choice, I used the one for 1.12b)
Import the *.pat
Set the [patch_rt.mpq] field to Sickel.mpq (or whatever you called it)
Create the memgraft patch and import mgpatch.mgd into the mpq.
Curse Echo 8's name and start mumbling that he should have just uploaded an mpq or something. Alternatively, curse at Blizzard for updating SC.
From the mpq, remove or rename "glue\expcampaign\xprot.smk" to something different like "EXCLUDE\glue\expcampaign\xprot.smk". It crashes me when I keep the file in there. I think that it is corrupted is a likely explanation for this.

Downgrade to the version of BroodWar your copy of MemGraft targets (if you haven't already)
Copy the Sickel.mpq to your SC folder (if you were working on the copy)
Run your memgraft patch
Have fun

Correct me if I left a step out or something. Note that steps 10 and 12 are optional.

There is an added REGENERATE action in the !sepatch.pat, but from what I can tell, that action is never used. If it is, it's a miracle Sickel never crashed (the action is almost guranteed to crash SC).

Do a forum search, a link was posted fairly recently to a Russian website that had the beta.mpq.

I have a copy of scikle never got it to work :( There is a alterantive to sickle called reclamtion it uses 1.13e and has alot less headaches.

TC Assistant makes changing versions easier! I never knew about !sepacth.pat if I did it would have probably saved a lot of trouble, but I have another question: Does anyone know where I can dl the memgraft.qdp for version 1.10? That star/mem graft is the ONLY one that has ever worked on my current computer.
