Anybody here know how to use it? It's what I use for all of my image stuff :)

I was wondering if someone knew that program like the back of their hand. I'd like to create new things--But the only thing that is stopping me is knowing HOW to do it.

Help would be great :D

what do u need to know? I used to use it alot before I started using Photoshop a few years back - if you are being limited in the program I would suggest getting photoshop tho... it's set up so much better and once you go to it, everything else feels SOOOO wrong :P

anyways, what did you want to learn?

although this is a photoshop tutorial, the same types of tools are used in Paint Shop Pro

Another thing...I can't find anything like it now, but you know when you have a picture of something, and then you layer another picture of that same pic but in a lighter opacity kinda?

Ya know I tihnk I just figured that out on my own just by describing it, lolz :P

Haha.

I still use Paint Shop Pro 5... it works for what I need to do anyway :P

9 is probably much more complicated like Photoshop, I'd imagine. Best of luck :)

Gimp that would be the best photoshop esq substitute... I don't have teh link anymore, because my comp went nuts and kinda destroyed my entire bookmark database. but I am sure that if you google it it shouldn't be to hard to track down.

as far as paint shop pro.. I have no clue.

I used to use paint shop pro but I like photoshop element's paintbursh feather and smudge algorythms better.

paintshop pro still has vector tools which photoshop elements doesn't have. Well at least the version I have doesn't have it. I assume the vector tools go with adobe illustrator.

Anyway, I can do all I want with brushwork using photoshop elements. I have done other good pieces with paintshop pro as well that were equally as good. But I stick with elements because I like the feel of the brushes and the smudge tool. Photoshop elements is virtually the same as Photoshop without the advanced filters but it comes at an affordable price if you can find it. Most people won't use all of the features provided by Photoshop itself anyway.
