I was just linked to this cute little guide on how a girl should go about getting a date//sustaining a relationship with a geek. Aside from a few things, I found it pretty accurate . . . Although I do feel like I've been treated like some kind of animal.
Anyway, enjoy!

or perfecting their Bill Gates impressions. You know how some people wear t-shirts with their favorite bands on them, thus showing that they went to certain shows? Well, geek dudes wear t-shirts with the logos of different software companies on them
what the fuck is that? no.
Thus, certain media images and themes come to have an overly cathected, metaphorized reality to them
are you kidding me. fuck the media
The Trek factor
not even going to read it.
other than that, i guess it sort of makes sense. but generalizations dont work.

Please, just take it for face value, pixels. It's not supposed to be an all-encompassing, accurate description of every geek on the face of the planet. It's just a nicely written, cute, little article that gave me a chuckle.

I have an aimsniff.com shirt...
I liked it, but it does make me feel like I'm some kind of wild, endangered animal.

I'm a nerd, not a geek, so that guide is useless on me :P
Change Star Trek to Star Wars or Warcraft, though, and we're in business.

<3 I like geeks, they're cute and they're warm. They usually let you get what you want and if you're lucky to find one good enough to fall in love with, you'll be just as happy as I am waking up everyday to see a photo of my favourite geek right beside my bed.

My mom is a geek, she has one of those shirts that says:
(On the Front)
<BODY>
(On the Back)
</BODY>
It's green with white letters--She loves it :P

There are many types of geeks. One should not try to generalize the ways of the geeks. For one example, not even half of the geeks are into star trek or anything like that.....
I think is betta to get a guide for Geek Guy to hook up chicks

I think so too :P
Rule #1: Snorting during laughter is a turn off. The girl is laughing at you not with you.
lolz! :D :P :)

Geeks are persecuted in the academy. Why? I can count the total number of them. Not counting the officer corps... we have ... ... less than thirty out of two hundred.
Rule # 2: Girls like it when you are romantic. However, approaching them wearing a rented suit and holding a boquet of flowers in THE MIDDLE OF CLASSES is a no-no. Although a few girls like this, most will be utterly embarrassed. Make sure you know her type of thinking.
Come on people, help us out. Add your own rules.

The imprinting thing from that link is crucial. Haha so good. :)
You might notice that these men harbor some strange ideas about how the world works and some particularly strange ideas about women. There is a reason for this. Because they've had limited interpersonal experience, geek dudes must look elsewhere for behavior models. Lacking a real world social milieu, geeks often go through a transference stage with such narratives, and try to model their interactions on them. Thus, certain media images and themes come to have an overly cathected, metaphorized reality to them, while the rest of us view such programming as mere entertainment.

That means wearing a Warboards item of clothing would make me a geek! There is no justice in the world!!
To many geek dudes, cyberdating is just an advanced form of some kind of video game, but they are frustrated by a lack of players.
Now that made me laugh. It's clever on at least 2 levels!!

Dude, people who like Star Trek are not geeks. We are Trekkies. See? There is a word to describe what we are, and that word is not geek. Why do people assume anyone who likes Trek is a geek? Huh? Huh? HUH? TREKKIES OF THE WORLD UNITE!! j/k ya'll. That article describes me fairly well. Is that bad or good? Yeah, I love my hard drive, when it's not freakin out on me that is. Is that such a bad thing?
Geeks for the win!
Anyway, what about the math geeks? We're here too. :P

It got a smirk, I've seen some before that were funnier, can't remember where they were though. And yes, any attempts at generalizing the WHOLE geek population into one stereotype is near impossible.

That was pretty good. Not entirely accurate, but good. And I don't like Star Trek.
