Well, I am looking for a few musical artists along the lines of a more ambient trance sound. Kind of weird, I know... But, I want something to go to sleep to, that kind of puts you in that "dream state" aka REM. Anyway, just looking for a few artists that have a less noisy, more of a tranquil, hypnotic type sound.


Please, post artist name, and if possible a link to where I can download a few songs!

Chemical Brothers might help you, specifically their album 'Surrender'.

My sister loves "Sleeping Sounds" as she calls it.
It isnt music, she has these rainforrest CD's, with the sounds of waterfalls, birds, wind in tree's etc.
She thinks it really helps, I tried it once, the sound of the damn waterfall had me up every freaking hour :(
I think I would go the mellow music, Pick Floyd, few choice John Lennon tunes, that sort of thing.

I have every song known to man, by Pink Floyd. At least the ones that are easier to find. :P

Anything by Ray Lynch. He's one of the best New Age artists out there in my opinion.

Deep Breakfast is his best by far. Especially the track "The Oh of pleasure."

If you're into the whole etherealearthysarahmclaughlintype stuff, you should defiantely check this one out. Karma is a GREAT album. ;)

I like a few songs of an instrumental composer called Talvin Singh. Beautiful fusion music and very trance like.Especially a song called "Light".

Paul Oakenfield(sp?) makes pretty cool trance music too.
