what about we make a thread where u post ur strategies and explain them a little and maybe also post a replay of u using it so that noobs and gosus can learn some new stuff!! here's an example of what i mean:
name: mass huntresses
text: first build a... an other stuff u wanna say bout that strat
counter for: mass ghouls and ....
countered by: some towers and flying units...
just post them here!:) maybe somebody could stickie this
This thread probably isn't going to go very far, but I'll post one.
The DL fast tech to Tier 3 Ghoul push.
1) Start with the standard Undead build order. Except don't make a Tomb of Relics. Get a DL hero
2) Have 2 crypts
3) Make heaps of ghouls.
4) Creep often, get at least level 4 before attacking, you'll likely reach level 6 midgame, which is USUALLY GG.
4.5) DL skill points 1) Sleep (dealing with the DH harass), 2) Aura. 3) Aura. 4) Sleep 5) Aura 6) Infernal 7) Sleep 8-10) Work it out :)
5) Fast tech to Tier 2. Then straight from Tier 2 to Tier 3. Don't make any Tier 2 buildings, but keep MASSING GHOULS. Get the graveyard upgrades.
6) Upon reaching Tier 3, get "ghoul frenzy" , this makes the ghouls much better.
7) Send all your ghouls, and attack them. If they have 1-2 air units, sleep them. If not, sleep their hero instead.
8) Kill their army, since they'll really only have a few units out by then since you fast teched while massing ghouls.
This counters:
People who don't scout, and do a cookie cut build order involving quite a few Tier 3 units which they don't have the time to get to.
Is countered by:
1) People who scout, see the mass ghouls and decide to mass air or something unpleasant like that.
2) People who do a Tier 2 push which destroys almost your entire army, and sets your attack back far enough for them to mass a Tier 3 army while you have nothing except ghouls which are useless against a lot of Tier 3 melee units.

you honestly use that strat?
you honestly use that strat?
Yeah.... it doesn't exactly work against people who have a lot of talent, but most of the people I verse don't have that. I have about a 75% win with this strat, honestly!

1. Uh how do you "fast tech" to tier 3 if you dual crypt ghoul?
2. Mass ghouls the entire game? What teh fuck?
3. Ok so yea, you may have level 4 dl but your opponent will have mid level AOE so the ghouls will drop like flies.
I really dont foresee this working vs someone good.
Edit- You just admitted that you werent a very good player and maybe this strat is effective for players your standard so i guess gj being original or something like that.

Ok, this strategy works against NE, and the idea isn't to just stick with ghouls. Ghouls are the backbone. GenocideAlive has a great approach to the match-up, so I'll simply refer you to this thread. (http://www.warboards.org/showthread.php?t=13200)

I'm okay, but I'd probably lose against most of the forumers here. And I always seem to be matched with people who are a lower level even though I'm > 50%. So it works almost often.
And you missed the point that it works when my opponent does not scout me. Often they will not have high AOE spells anyway.
I've also seen that replay as well, Proz but thanks anyway.
Btw it wasn't my idea, guy called VillainousVince gave it to me.
And at least valorise that I have made a contribution to this thread even if you don't think its a good idea.
At higher levels of play your opponent will always scout you.

At higher levels of play your opponent will always scout you. Ehhm...he said its countered by people that scout...and i don't think he uses this strat that often..do u?(yoda921)
He said it works when his opponent doesnt scout him but vs a good player, youll always be scouted.
good strat: works on anyone, during any situation, only matters on how you play it.
bad strat: only works on newbs, or in certain situations (IF my opponent doesnt scout! If my opponent techs with no rax!)
doing bad strats is fine, but honestly, you don't ever want to tell people advice and use a bad strat.

My definition of a good strat is a cretain build and combo that is mildly effective, yet can be changed throughout the game due to certain events.

1. Uh how do you "fast tech" to tier 3 if you dual crypt ghoul?
You build a crypt, then another one, establish map control, then go straight to tier 3. It's not a no-rax fast-tech to tier 3, but it sees a much higher success rate as a result.
Mass ghouls the entire game? What teh fuck?
Think of it as more of a "bait-and-switch". You get enough ghouls to force a counter and provide you a window to expo. You then anticipate and counter their counter, and you've got a good shot at winning. That's assuming they don't underestimate ghouls and try to do something like hunt/archer/dott mix and try to fight you. A healscroll, vamp aura, frenzy, skull, and good positioning make ghouls a lot tougher than people give them credit.
3. Ok so yea, you may have level 4 dl but your opponent will have mid level AOE so the ghouls will drop like flies.
And I'll have Sleep-spam, so his mid-level AoE is pretty much useless. The only hero this fails spectacularly against is the Panda, and that's only if you don't pressure well at tier 2/3 and keep him low level. Against a L5 Warden and L5 Panda + mass dryads, you're almost destined to fail.
I really dont foresee this working vs someone good.
Like all strategies, it has its weaknesses. But I'm told FoV (is this the right guy?) has a lot of success with ghoul strategies. Perhaps you should look up some of his replays if you want pros-only type advice.
Well most NEs these days seem to use DH over warden first so it would be alot easier to use ghouls. Yea panda could really hurt that strat but if you could manage to get a expo up and throw in some heal scrolls along with sleep on panda, you could almost completely null him. If its pure ghoul then DH wouldnt be to effective vs it..But yes, vs dryads it could be a problem. But you could possibly overrun dryads with ghouls and such and maybe a few attack moving gargs. But i think DK DL would be a bit better than dl first because youd really need unholy aura imo.

Here's an example of that map control-type game you get into.
Note that I at no point wish to fight the Panda, because the Panda's fucking spells hose my army. Thus, I only fight at low levels and simply keep my expo while preventing him from getting one. He plays the position of defender flawlessly, waiting for that inevitable FINAL SHOWDOWN where he can use his two healscrolls, hero potions, wand, etc.
Unfortunately he has no idea what I'm doing, and thus plays right into my hands.

yeah, fov does this a lot, but he does it with dk, cuz aura and coil just make ghouls even better vs archers early game.
