View Full Version : I for one welcome our new hairy crustacean overlords...
And will be more than happy help in rounding up others to toil in their underwater algae mines.

Thats pretty weird. Evolution: Sometimes it just likes fucking with nature. ;)

Holy crap, that thing would scare me to hell if I saw it in the ocean. Its arms are huge!

I want one!!!
For some reason it makes me think of crabs (the sexually transmitted lice) though... possibly the mixture of crab+hair.

Only 15cm, it won't enslave us yet. But GE willing, 4 metre verisons of them someday will. I can't wait. And for those biologists out there, if you know those really fast and huge micro organisms...well ok they are only huge and fast in the 400x microscope; forgot their name but they look like clear globs and someday they will be the size of cars and their natural prey will be humans who have escaped from the algae mines.

What I am wondering....
1) Does it still crack open with those little plier things?
and
2) Does it taste good with a butter sauce?

No, but I'm sure you will when hundreds of them climb over you, chewing the flesh off your bones. The side-dish will be your screams of agony, and the desert your coagulated blood.
Run, little piggy.

That is awesome. I welcome them as well. If they need a base of operations... I'll be happy to initiate an armed rebellion and overthrow of the local government... not that I have the means to accomplish it or anything <_<

That's because you put to much emphasis on looks. I dream of a world where every decapod will be judged on the basis of his character, not the nature of his fur.
And besides, I'm sure you hurt its feelings.

Creepy. It's always interesting to see what people find at the bottom of the ocean.

The original thing looks creepy; but I bet there's some crazy folk that would raise it as a child, and cuddle with it :\.

Well, I can safely say it looks more tasty than the hairy... living object. :P
But I think I'd prefer a high-quality lobster anyway.

For some reason, the weirdest ocean animals and fish and stuff are the deep hard to find ones. Wonder what would people think if a resturant started to serve them as the "seafood special"
