I've been onto this idea for a while now and think some of the threads to this concept have been very good. For instance the point that is would have to be called "Worlds" rather than "World" was very good. Also pointing out that character classes already exist in game continuity was very good as well. But the one thing people seem hard pressed to get past is the space travel concept and/or the team basic dynamic.
Now like I said I think about this idea a lot and have an idea to at least get the game of the ground. Why not base the Worlds Of Starcraft game on the discovery of a Dysons Sphere (shell)? In that case you could have an entire playable enviornment within this sphere all based upon the battle between the 3 factions to control it?
Also on a side note I have studied WoW for a bit now I think that you'd have to add anywhere from 2-5 new races. I've come up with some of my own and am very open to hearing your guys ideas. I'll check back maybe I'm full of junk or maybe this idea could work...

I don't really think there could ever be a "World(s) Of StarCraft" game simply because it would be too expansive. The three races couldn't compete for it at the same time because it would be far too hard to balance 3 sides out and BattleGrounds wouldn't quite work. This has been talked a lot about before, look through all the threads ;-).

Blizzard don't care about balancing, so there wouldn't be a problem.

They did care, for Starcraft at least. From what I hear, not so much about Warcraft.

THey could do it... it would be an opportunity for MANY expantions and patches!

WC3 was patched for balance around 17 times (+ beta). its not really balanced yet.
and i dont believe Blizzard would resort for battleground mechanics for WoS.. with 3 sides it isnt practical and battlegrounds kill world pvp anyway. Starcraft universe could give space for dynamic battles planet per planet. and with EVE style realms (everyone is on the same realm, but there is quite many planets) it could be quite immersive. Knowing Blizzard's popularity with MMORPGS, however, it remains to be seen how they manage to scale it for millions of gamers. if they ever get to WoS.
