GameSpy's Top Ten Lists

Courtesy of Mr. Plow from warcraft.org, I came to know bout the top ten RTS list from GameSpy.
Now wc2 isin't even in the top 10 let aone the top 5.
I mean what a travesty of justice.
If they call it top ten list of ALL time then they should consider what a revolution wc2 was.
Correct me if I am wrong but wasn;t it the first game to use fog of war.
Warcraft 3 is like way AWEsome :worship: but wc2 i reckon was a better game related to its time.

Well to be honest did Warcraft 2 bring anything new to the table? Did it influence any others? IMO they did not and they did not make that list up based upon Balance of the games, if they did Warcraft 3 would never ever show.

In the intro it says sequels are all put in 1, aka wc3 = wc1, 2 and 3

Too bad I can't run WC3 on Mac and have to use a PC though...

I played TA, and seriously. It had great additions to it, but it does not compete with SC. I am sorry. I enjoy TA:Kingdoms, TA was nice, but SC pwned it so bad!

For a game they say is so revoloutionary, how come half the RTS world hasint even heard of it sides from that list? I thought so.

You're kidding? Total Annihilation was the one that pipped StarCraft?

I've played Total Annihilation and it's a good game and all, but I believe both StarCraft and WarCraft are better. StarCraft and WarCraft are easy to learn, hard to master. I personally found Total Annihilation to be too much, and even after I clocked the game on both sides I didn't have much of a grasp on things.

I think warcraft should be on the list because for its time it was a very great game, heck i still play it to this day, but i am a little behind the times. and for it being unbalanced, i can see your point for certant maps. Ogres get blood lust which is a definant advantage, but then if you complain that that is unfair, then stop playing as human and switch to orc, its not like warcraft 3 where it is some what difficult to switch from race to race if you are new to the game because in warcraft 2 the races are basically the same.
