Ok, a fellow modder asked how do you make a new grp. It's simple really, but BSTRhino has a tutorial, however, he likes to go really into detail, and he makes these ridiculosly long tutorials, so I'm here to shorten it. Here it goes.

A)Open retrogrp and find the thing you want to mod(don't ask me what is what, i really don't know)(Do this by click 'load external files').

B)Next you got to write to BMP's for editing, to do this, click on 'set output directory'. All the frames will be saved here. Then you just click on write to BMP's and click on all bitmaps

C)Go into your favorite image editing program, paint, photoshop etc..., then open the files and edit them as you wish

D)Save OVER the files, when you save them, just to save time, and sanity, you can always write that thing to bitmap later if you want to edit, keep in mind you ahve to edit EVERY frame for the image be different in every instance(not just shooting or standing there), ALSO!!!!!! IT IS IMPORTANT!!!! YOU CAN ONLY ONLY ONLY!!! It must be 8-bit(256 colors) and RLE on. Otherwise it won't work.Save it in the same spot it is in

E)Open up RetroGrp, and click on, compile to grp. Then go to where your images are, and there should be a ral file. If you did not add frames, then just click this. If you did add frames you must add them to the ral file.

F)Make the folders in your mod's folder (mod/unit/___(protoss terran zerg etc). In this last folder add the newly created grp file. Then remove the X_ .

G)Test, if it crashes, maybe you messed up or iscript may be different due to frames, or maybe you messed up on a step.

It's that simple, if i messed up on a part please let me know and i'll edit...See BST You didn't need the Ridiculously long tutorial with all the images.(Looks longer then it is due to haveing more spaces.

It was brought to my attention that i forgot to mention how to add or subtract frames. Ok well first you need to make the frames, and save them as framexyz, where x y and z all stand for different numbers. Example: Frame231
1)Open up the rar file that you get when you write out BMP's
2)Add near the bottom the frame thing, or whatever is on the other lines. I'm sure BST will come and clear this up. It is in his tutorial, and i haven't read that(that part anyways), and i have never opened up the rar file so i would not know.

As i mentioned i haven't done this before, so I'm sure BST will come and clear it up, with his super long posts =\. But that should be about it. However i'm not sure how the iscript would work, since the programs don't have the new frames, i'm not sure, but I'm sure BST will clear that up as well.:shiftyl::shiftyr:

Someone should bump it up every week, it would save so much space in warboards' servers..
