For all those that don't think too highly of their Photoshop skills, or don't have any at all, here is your saving grace.

This thread is for the requesting and posting of signature and avatar images.

Please try to keep discussion concerning the fine details of final images to PMs etc., but by all means post stocks you want included in your final image here. That way, multiple artists can try their hand at whatever you're requesting, and you can select what you like best. ;)

Well right click the image and select "Copy Image Location" from the drop down menu; then on the forum insert that url in between two [img ] tags (without the space). Keep in mind that the signature has to be below 25kb (20?) or under 500 px by 125 px.

I'm getting the same thing... but copy seems to work, only it puts the image as an image... I don't know if that'll work or not, I didn't try saving my sig.

It might be due to the fact that some of us might be using a different browser. (IE, Mozilla, Netscape etc.)

It's not meant to be an instant boom, it's just meant for when people feel they need a new sig (which can be a while). Don't worry, it'll build up over time.

If you're using Photoshop you can try lower quality settings -- that is for .jpg's, I don't know if you can do that with .png's.

Exactly the problem I had.

Okay Now that I've got my nice new avy (Thank you Holocaust!:)) I now need a siggy too. The "Starcraft-X" one is coming down today because I've renamed the mod so I'm open for anyone to try there hand at.

The sig needs to be sorta like the avy. Starcraft and nukes. Maybe even just SC but preferably with nukes. No ghost this time though. Don't want too many of those.

like that. I don't care about the font, as long as it's bold and slightly transparent. Also, I want my name to be bright green. The transperancey is so you can see the nuclear explosian in the back ground. (y'know the defeat screen in starcraft? that's what I'm talking about.) Then on the right I want an alien head coming from the top right. Here, I was thinking about those aliens from the movie -- well, Alien actually. :P
And behind every thing, the background should be a starfield. Ok, got that? :D

Thanks for the concern but already saved it as a file. And even the name was shown the same. FF and it's extras (read, Image Toolbar) are quite handy sometimes. ;)

Btw, I'm still waiting for the X-Men avy to pop. :) It could even be in similar style to my present avy, if you'd like.

I would make it myself, but I can't find any good pictures unless they already have backrounds, and my skills are not good enough to where I can remove the pics from the backrounds easily without messing them up. So yeah. A Star Trek sig would be greatly appreciated. Nice sig Forsaken!

But I think the edge of the Sorceror is abit hard and pixelat-y at the edges. If you're using PS, just apply 1-2 pixel feathering. (Yes it is a Sorceror from WoW thought it doens't clearly show it:D)

If you mix black and green, you don't get blue. The primary colors are red, blue, and green, nothing mixed with anything makes green. It sure as hell looks blue, I'll check in photoshop when my computer gets fixed >_<

Hullo...I was thinking, I've not really changed my icon and sig since I got here, and I need something new. Anyone feel like helping? They should be dance themed, but they don't have to feature any particular kind of dance. Vectors are good, but anything will do, as long as it's fairly simple. Sleek lines are good. I may just end up animating a stick figure, but I figured that I'd use the skillz of various graphic artists here first. Thanks in advance!

If you mix black and green, you don't get blue. The primary colors are red, blue, and green, nothing mixed with anything makes green. It sure as hell looks blue, I'll check in photoshop when my computer gets fixed >_<Kong, buddy, I hate to disappoint you, but the primary colors are red, blue, and yellow, not red, blue, and green. Yellow and blue mixed together makes green. And, judging by your first sentence, shouldn't the bolded part be saying nothing mixed with anything makes blue? Just a thought.

I think he was refering to light, and for some programs, they use the primary 'light' clours, whereas you are refering to the primary 'paint' colours.

That out line on Wolf's Siggy, it was a stock image that I found on google.
Now if you want your hawk/jet outline to be of better quality, try and find a couple of pics and merge them, otherwise, I'll use the current MS paint one you have now.

Well, all y'gotta do is right click the image, and click save as.
The save it somewhere you can remember.
Then goto imageshack.us, browse for your file, and click upload.
Then copy the direct link, goto your signature space in the control panel, click on the image button and paste your direct link, then there you go :)

Although not exactly pertaining to the thread subject, it should present a "save as" option if you right clicked on the pic' at Holo's post anyway, on both in IE or FF. And I even tried the "copy link location" option and it gave me the image alone on one of it's origin site's pages. ;)

I'm not sure how requests work in this forum, so if I need to post anything else, let me know. I'd like it to be a graphic from WC3, and I'd like it to say "Smurf Challenge King" on it. Well, now I have two tournies going on, so I need two things. I don't know specifics on sizes of avatars and signatures, so I don't know what size to say. But I'm looking to have an avatar icon for the winner. By avatar, I mean like the US flag I have as my avatar.

So, I need an avatar for the smurf tourney, standard avatar size. Refer to my previous post for details. This one I need in 2 weeks or so, as I have only started to post things for this tournament and haven't fully formulated it yet.

The second and 'new' avatar I need is for the current reigning King of the Hill. I'd like it to be an avatar of the mountain king from WC3, standing on top of a hill. Maybe some thunder or something behind him, or holding his hammer up (if you can). I'm open to ideas on this one. I'd like it to say "The Hill King" or something on the bottom of the avatar. This one I need done by the end of next week, as we should have a King by then.

Again, use your elite skills to make it fun and aesthetic to the gamer's eye. I have a couple of ideas in my head, but I'm open to anything that looks cool -- and relates to my tournaments.

Perhaps it's possible to resize this picture so just the bear is in the frame and then add the caption "Gizza cuddle" in some sort of funny looking font at the bottom?

I'll start on yours right now. Personally I use Adobe Photoshop CS2 -- most others use Photoshop as well.

Ah, refined specifics ehheh. Avy:Anything Unreal Tourny Sig: Dawn of War or Winter Assault.

Finished yours. There wasn't much in the way of Unreal Tourny stuff (that could fit in an avatar and look good) so I just had the logo put in. If you want a matching Avy / Sig set I also included an Avy with the Dawn of War logo.

Btw, your avatar isn't showing. What you should do is right click on the image (whichever one you choose) and save it to your computer. Then in the Edit Avatar (http://www.warboards.org/profile.php?do=editavatar) control panel go to the 'Custom Avatar' section and upload the avatar you saved to your computer.

Ahh, I think I know what you did then. In the Edit Avatar control panel (http://www.warboards.org/profile.php?do=editavatar) you linked to the image on your computer in the 'Enter Avatar URL' section. What you're supposed to do is hit 'Browse' (next to the empty space in the 'Upload an Avatar from your Computer' section) and then find the avatar on your harddrive.

My avy? Maybe a year, 1 1/2 years. As for my siggy, only recently it has bloomed greenish... once again. :D

I haven't used greenish avy's all the time I've been here, 'child'. ;) I hope that someone could vouch for me with the ol' orange avy that I had in my 1st year here or so. >_<

And besides, I do not wear green in all other forums I hang upon. In Sid's forum (http://sidworkshop.forumup.in/index.php?mforum=sidworkshop) for instance, where I use an Apocalyptic' avy that he made me a long time and it's ago... well, go n' find out. Too bad the set he has made me that time don't fit at WB's in size/pixels wise terms (and at many other forums too).
That also applies in Neo's place (http://fos.kupatrix.com/), btw. :smirk:

I'd like a new sig. I want it to be matrix style, with a matrix-code BG. On the left I would like a picture of morheus sitting, when neo is meeting him for the first time. In the middle I would like a picture of when neo is "entering the rabbit hole", somewhat like this (http://www.7art-screensavers.com/screens/alien-magical-matrix-3d/alien-magic-matrix-3d-neo-communication-trinity-screensaver-is-just-a-reminder-that-everething-is-possible-in-this-funny-world.jpg), and on the right I would like the red pill. I want to it to all be well blended, and the size to be around 500x125. For text, I want it to say near the bottom (in glowing green letters of course) "See how deep the rabbit hole goes" and in the top right in smaller text I want "Nahotnoj."

As I need a new signiature, I'd be grateful if anyone could make a signiature/avatar set from this picture (see below). I reckon the little sticker doesn't quite encroach on the main symbol, which is what I'd like in. I don't know how your whizzy Photoshop thing works, but I'm sure you can find a way to just get the symbol!

As for background etcetera, my first choice would be a sort of black background - however, as the symbol is grey, it would kind of have to make the symbol stand out. Any shade of grey that does this is fine, but if there isn't one that can do this then a kind of scarletty colour, similar to the one in the pic, would also work.

Yeah, so for the signiature, put the symbol on the left hand side, bigger than the signiature itself if it looks stylish (ie. if top and bottom were to be cut off slightly to keep the pic quality as long as it looks good I wouldn't mind!) and then in the bottom right hand corner RedRagToAnOrc in a nice, thin, streaky font, any colour that fits. Feel free to add some faint bands of colour in the background, that always looks nice.

For the avatar, just the symbol in the middle and a background of the same colour used for the signiature is fine.

Anyway, here's the picture. A box of cookies to whoever does one first! As long as I like it. :)

well, lets see, creating sigs for users is a favor we do for users, not something we are required to do. If we so choose we do not have to make sigs for anyone, I personally know who I do stuff for, and every once and a while I'll do someone else, but I gotta say creating a matrix sig wouldn't have been any fun to make so I didnt.

EDIT: While a resizing isn't exactally fun either, it only takes several seconds, and since that sig was by me for kong, then yea I did it.
