According to that, and many other articles, China has passed new laws involving online gaming! It's illegal for the Chinese to play games with PvP content, so that knocks out a shitload of games. It also means less farmers! FELLOW GAMERS, REJOICE!!!

Chinese farmers infest all servers, dude. Medivh is a server in EST and it's got farmers up the wazoo.
Waitaminute... Does this mean only PvP servers? Or does it mean all of WoW? You can always decline PvP battles or not go to battlegrounds, or even step into an enemy town. It's not 'forced' onto you to go into PvP mode. I mean, if they can still hit PvE servers, I'm toast on Cenarius >.<;

P.S. How am I toast? Less on PvP servers, more on PvE x.x

All of WoW is affected by this. PvP servers, PvE servers, all servers. How do I know? I've not seen a farmer since I read about this, and I frequent a few places that have farmers. Tyr's Hand, namely.

See above. Oh, and Sikawtic... this will probably mean lower prices in the AH.

FARMER!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, you'll live. Training costs don't even reach into 1g yet, and I haven't upgraded my bracers since lvl 41 on Beastslayer. You don't need brand new equipment every level or two.

Ive never tried P V E or RP. It just kinda sounds really boring compared to PVP.
Is it any fun?
:P

What is PvE? Is that like you're not playing against any people, but rather the computer or something else? Or what.

Im not so sure my self.
I think its just like any PVP server, except you dont get to fight other poeople. So when you reach the level cap (60, atm), I guess you just run around and make money or something.

Try it out, why don't you?
PvE stands for Player vs Environment. Your main enemy is the AI of the game, aptly named "mobs". A PvE, aka Normal, server has a little bit of everything in it. It has your PvP, your occasional RPer and the instance raiders. It's a big melting pot, pretty much, and they're more for the casual people, in my opinion. And please... make another thread for this. This thread has nothing to do with type of server, it's an announcement that AH prices should go down in the near future and complaints about farmers should become fewer in number. If you want to talk about types of servers, make a new thread. This new law in China affects all of WoW and every other game that allows PvP combat.

I hope this will mean less farmers but I am sceptical that it will.
Full realms at peak time today where still full and required you to queue for a while to get in, add to that, there is no reason to think that all farmers are under 18, a large number of them may be, but if they are farming fulltime to support themselves, as many do, that would suggest many are not.

RPPvP servers are actually very entertaining. Nothing better then seeing some dude go into some speech about how he vanquished his foe right after he 1 shots some poor mage.

There are still considerably less Chinese farmers, and let's face it; a grand majority of gold farmers are Chinese!

Well there does indeed seem to be less gold farmers, however it seems to have had the opposite effect.
With less items of all types on the AH available for people to buy, prices seem to be going up, not down. Makes perfect sense though, don’t know why on earth I thought prices would come down with most the farmers removed.
For example, when I went to the AH today to buy some mageweave there was only 2 stacks of 20 available and where priced at a ridiculous 10g each, also there where about 60 single sheets priced at 50s a sheet, so obviously I went and farmed my own mageweave.
Think I'm starting to miss the farmers.

Yeah... I noticed that, too. So they were good for something... bah!
I was under the impression they had their hours limited. Features were added into the game to reduce XP by sharp percentages after X amount of hours.
In terms of China and GW, their Hong Kong (best of the best in China) ran an IWAY build vs. Tiiwan. ><

In pve you can still enter pvp mode at any time by typing /pvp. But what it does for you is allows you to farm unhindered by the other faction. IE: I can farm eastern plaguelands in tyrs hand and not have to worry about being ganked by af/horde. I can run through blackrock mountain to Blackwing Lair or Molten Core and not have to worry about the other faction swarming me at the entrance to ubrs.
They don't call em carebears for nothing.

You may want to start farming around 35ish. Otherwise, you may not have enough for your mount (I don't ever for whatever reason). At level 40, a good 90% of people assume you have a mount immidiately, unless you are either a stubborn Druid using Travel, a lazy hunter using the improved speed running thingy, or a stubborn shammy using Ghost wolf. Beyond that, I don't see why you wouldn't want a 60% speed increase outside.
*Shrug* That's just me. Not to say you couldn't get around without it... But believe me, once you hit level 40 and start questing, it seems an awfully long way back to town...
