Odyssey of the Mind is a major competition throughout the world.
For more info- look here (http://www.odysseyofthemind.com/learn_more.php) (despite the corny wording, it is actually a very competive event and is hard for people of all ages)
Anyways, each year, theres a World Competition that you can go to if you win state championships, and at worlds, each state gets about three individualized pins that can be traded, shown off, etc.
Wisconsin is a state that is just adopting OotM, thus we dont have a lot of people participating yet. I'm fortunate enough to know the state director, the person who designs the pins. This year, she decided to leave it open to hopefully just me and a few others to design, but since I'm not great in this area I thought I'd give the members of Warboards a try.
Here's a few examples
(http://www.odysseyofthemind.com/shop/pins.php)
-The design must be small enough to fit on a pin at largest 2" by 2", some pins can be specially made to have more than one part or be part of a set.
-The design must be related to Wisconsin, heres what the last one looked like (http://wi.odysseyofthemind.org/default.htm), but we're really getting tired of cows, so avoid them at all costs >.>
Ideas for things to include are:
Lakes
Wolves / Foxes
Bears
Tourism
Sunsets
Corn / Plants
I will either send all the quality designs to the director for her to choose from, or I will chose my own.
If any of the pins made here are chosen, I will notify the winner/s, I will post a picture of the pin and I will send the winner/s several final designs of the pin.
The pins are quality, they are usually metal with a nice gold-looking finish.
You also have the option to add lights so the pins blink, just send the specifications to me.
I need these designs in fast. I will most likely accept them until the end of next week, give or take a few days depending on the Directors prefrence.
There are usually about three pins, so more than one design could win as well as more than one person.
A lot of abstract brushing doesnt do well on a pin, so avoid doing so.
Again, the point of this thread is just to flaunt a few talented artists skills, give them a chance to represent their work in something a bit more public. There are people from all over the world who will see the design (Russia, romania, poland, Singapore, Japan, the US).
If you have any questions/suggestions, post them here.
(If this isnt the right forum, please move)
