After reading everything on the above sites, I think this guild just screwed themselves over by trademarking their name. They are now being bashed around by just about everyone on the WoW forums and both news sites.

People on the WoW forums are examining the TOS and EULA quoting sections that state trademarks cannot be used in WoW and people have gone off to create guilds similar to "The Syndicate" just to annoy the original guild.

Furthermore, their website doesn't even have a "propper" url to be a trademark! the website "www.thesyndicate.com" is taken by some random person, and googling "the syndicate" brings up anything BUT their guild. In my opinion, trademarking a guild name is stupid. If they're really that great, then people should already know the difference between the real "the syndicate" guild and a fake one.

Don't you just love people? I know I sure do... [/sarcasm]

Once again, the human gene pool is polluted. Oh, how I yearne for a non-violent cleansing. Maybe I can bring back "Leper-Colonies", only change them to "Darwinism-Isle"!

Yeah! Who's with me?
