I got done with intro to comp sci 1 last semester (comp eng major) and learned C/C++. Then on my own I went out and learned objective-C (I went from not being able to do or understand much of anything in the apple/O'Reilly book to now being one project from the last one). Now I'm looking to start a project to create a new, full cocoa staredit built from the ground up (I have a list of features in mind, which I'll write out once I have people willing to do it). I'm looking for mac programmers with experience in Obj-C, or at least in C/C++ or Java. Hell, I'll even open it up to windows users who are interested. There's a lot of options here, and I'm willing to take anyone who's capable of contributing.

You took one compsci class and taught yourself a new language, and you're ready to rebuild StarEdit? o_O Something is amiss here...
As of now, I program Windows and *NIX only, and am still learning besides all that. But yeah, good luck.

Well, I knew HTML before that, and then learned javascript in my spare time. I also did a good deal of assembly level hacking in macsbug in diablo 1 back in my OS9 days. It's not like I'm new to it, it's just that Obj-C is a big heap to learn, and I didn't have a good enough grasp on the terminology back then to really see how it all fit together.
Right now I'm looking all over trying to get a team together to split up the objects and some of the GUI programming, but it's not going too well after midnight ;P. I decided to do this for real a few weeks ago, but tonight I saw the (lack of) progress on SCMD2ME and decided I'd had enough. I really want to get back into map editing, but with no staredit program (I can't emulate anymore) that's just not gonna happen unless I do it myself.
