I dont think so cause i did that and it didn't erase my music but thena gain i brought my disk over and installed it all over again so maybe thats why

EDIT: I remember when my cousin brought her nano over and i updated some songs on her nano without erasing the songs to without having to install her ipod onto my computer so i dont think it will erase the songs, might only be the older ipods

If you're going to simply plug your iPod that is synched to your computer into someone else's computer, hoping to download the songs via iTunes, you're out of luck.

The idea is to prevent easy piracy. You can look around and find solutions to get your music off of your iPod and onto another computer using other applications. You can also simply enable Disk Use on your iPod and then treat it as an external hard drive and drag his music to your iPod and then add that music onto your own computer later.

Try searching google. ;)
