View Full Version : Seal's RP: The City of Clouds (part 1)

Seal

Hello. Right now I've decided to show you my attempt for a RP.

now to the main thing:

Referring (http://www.warboards.org/showthread.php?p=34039)

Chapter 1: The Legacy of the City of Clouds
Part 1:
The Mansion and the Temple

I'd prefer at most 6 RPers along with me. If more than 6, special skills run out.

This RP is placed on a large city, which floats on a magical platform. There is no ways to go out of the city unless I allow it. There is only humans.

The city produces everything it needs by magic. Also, the city is heavily fortified because of the occassional sky pirate attacks. The streets are narrow, and there is large number of

shadowy dead ends between buildings. The largest streets are heavily guarded, but smaller are not so heavily, but some patrols walk around them two times a day at least.

The guards use very powerful magic-enchanted spears who launch either fireballs or electricity, and they wear magical armor, so they are feared along the criminals.
Even though there is very little crime, stronger still do whatever they want on the weak.

EDIT:

Concerning mages: Magic has reported to be very.. "feminine", and longer usage of magic by a male causes slow, inevitable change to a complete female.

-- end edit.

The RP starts inside a mansion, everyone has found him/herself from a room, without any equipment, nor any clothes of his/her own.
There is some clothes on the table, simple dress, simple pants, a simple shirt. Along with some underwear.

Then the door opens, and a woman asks to follow her to the main hall. The woman has light clothing (bikini-like under a half-transparent dress), and a dagger. Hint: She can fight well, and is immune to persuading.

---

Now to the characters.

Name:
Gender:
Occupation:
(female: craftsman, magician, priestess, male: warrior, craftsman, priest)
Preferred weapon:
(magicians and priests can use staves, craftsmen axes and bows, priests also mauls, warriors swords and daggers)
Special skills:
(take one, everyone must have different: charm/manipulation, stealth (how to move silent, hiding in shadows), strong willpower (resistant to torture, manipulation), rage (critical strikes), regenerative (doesn't need to wait so long if injured), extra vitality or manapower)
Bio:
(looks, some background)

I'd like if there wouldn't be so many duplicates, but the choice is yours.
I'll continue the story if/when there is enough people.

Also, edit:

People who are in this RP:
Black Hawk
Killphill
Whiteknight
SterlingRat
ShawnManX
Mtank

This RP does not accept any new signups before Part 2

Damn... Good RP for a start, Seal, and I wish I could join, but alas, I'm in 3 right now, and controlling other characters. Once I'm out of two of my current ones, I'm going to probably begin my secret project RP... But man... There's even a stealth catergory! Damn... x.x

Name: Jason Narma-doth
Gender: Male
Occupation: Warrior
Preferred weapon: Gold-Steel Alloy Thick Bladed, Double Edged Long Sword
Special skills: regenerative
Bio: As a child, he grew up in the city, not really knowing anything that was going on, yet knowing what was going on at the same time. Very confused some times.

Name: Xuther
Gender: Male
Occupation: Priest (different role for me :) ).
Preferred weapon: a staff with a golden eagle on the tip.
Special skills: Charm / Manipulation.
Bio: Xuther is a tall broad, and well built man. His head has no hair except for his goetee. He usually wears a long cloak with fine patterns sewn in, and many jewels here and there, but now does not have any of this.

Xuther was brought up in a Church, his family having been killed when he was 15. He does not know who killed them, and he doesn't care, for they were the scum of the underworld. His only refuge was the church, where he soon learned of his future career, a priest. One Priest, Arc'all, was his father figure, and could have been his father since his real family were always off on some new 'mission', involving drugs, mobs, or some other lowlife activity. Now Xuther is one of the Priests of the Cultivatis Exritius, an elite group of Priets sworn in to be the 'soldiers' of their God.

(OOC: Seal, what kind of religious beliefs do these people have? Do they have similiar beliefs to Christians of today? Or do they have a totally different beliefs?)

Ah, I forgot that part completely. They believe in many different things, and yes, there is a christian-like religion also. Too lazy to think of a original one for the main religion :)

He used to, now they are in the mansion, without any stuff of their own. Except for small jewelry like earrings.

What does ooc stand for?

OOC = Out of Character, it's when you're asking the GM a character, or just saying something that isn't part of the actual story-telling / RP'ing.

Damn you, in a RP GM's rules are not to be broken. Magic user will be a female, or you shall get removed (or I'll make it sure that your character will become a female). If you really want to use kind of magic as male, be a priest.

Bio:a homeless man who likes to vent hes anger on guards(I have killed seven).Hes only freind is hes spork BOB.
Guards are very powerful, he cannot kill even one guard. If he is able to, guard's comrades will incinerate him.

As for names, just have a normal one, if you can't think of anything, use your own name. in RP characters should have a name, and in this one, characters will have one, I'll add one if no name is suggested.

This made me a bit angry...

Yes! I'm 6th! Editing right away. I'm in.

EDIT: Okay, new character. There are only a few people who came so far and they are out smoking. I can't stand smoke >.< so here I am.

Okay, do you want magic to spelt magic or magick? The reason magick is spelt magick is because magic is used to describe a magician, who are just skilled in the art of deception. Magick usually means real magick. I'll be fine either way.

Name: Karen
Gender: Female
Occupation: Magician
Preferred weapon: A pure white staff. On the head of the staff is a crystal figure of a man in flowing robes, holding a staff that sports a diamond in the tip. The man, who was named Durego Huntaro, was once a powerful mage and the only man in history to have some secret power not to be converted by magic. Mystery surrounds the man, but all known about him was lost over 500 years ago, when he died. This figure amplifies Karen's power at odd moments, and she is grateful for it. (rage)
Special skills: rage (critical strikes)
Bio: Karen's face is lovely to most people and it seems to hold the knowledge of peace. This has helped her vanquish many foes, as they do not believe a woman of her beauty and tranquility could fight them. She also prefers a long, flowing white robe to help accent her face. Her slender body also suggest peace.

Karen was the daughter of a powerful magician, and a well-known warrior. They were fighters of the underground of drugs and theft. As Karen grew up, her magical abilities ran rampant. She had no self control, and only her mother could hold her, for fear of injury if anyone else held her. There was also risk of injury if somone came near her.

Karen's father grew distant from her because of this and became more focussed on fighting the underground. He grew distant from his wife and became moody. The great warrior went out to fight the leader of a gang one day, and never came back.

At the age of four, 1 year after her father was killed, Karen's mother began to teach her how to hone her skills. Karen was a quick study and learned to not lash out accidently after only 6 months. Her mother began to teach Karen the basics of magic, and later on to hone her own skills.

At the age of 16, Karen surpassed her mother in skill. This was the day she received her staff, hand crafted by her mother over 3 years. Karen's mother handed her the staff at the night of her 16th birthday. Knowing that she had no more to teach her daughter, she gave a hug to her daughter, and they parted, as Karen had to learn to master more skills by herself.

Karen spent the next five years perfecting and mastering her skill. Then, one day that year, she awoke inside a room, naked and along side several other people.

Okay, there we go. It'll be my first RP as a female so here goes.

In that mansionlike building, there is a 'Mage Stone', which hinders the use of magic.

Everyone's hair has been binded together if long enough, also nails are cut.

Don't worry mages, this RP will go out from that building.

Karen's eye's flew open. She stared up at the ceiling, which depicted a battle between 2 mages.

'When... when did I close my eyes?' Karen asked herself, as she picked herself up off the ground. A slight draft in the room caused her to become aware of her, and the other's, bareness. Although Karen would still fight bare, but she preferred to be dressed so that she would emit a bit more sense of power to other people. Her eyes searched the room and locked onto the white clothing. Karen gracefully walked to the table and put on the clothes.

It was then that Karen felt even more bare, even though she had clothes on.

'My staff.... my STAFF!" Karen started screaming and rushed around the room, searching everywhere for her staff. Her lovely face was disturbed by her yelling. Although she was far from powerless without her staff, she had become too dependant on the staff for her power.

A man in the room rmoved in his sleep, and Karen immediately stiffled her voice. She had to remain calm to control the others. And she would control this group of people she had been thrown together with.

Karen walked towards the table with clothes, picking them all up. She proceeded to go to each person asleep in the room, waking them up. As they waked up, she gave them a pair of clothes, saying, "For you," as if she had made the clothes for them.

'First step is done,' Karen thought as she looked around the room at the groggy people, 'Now I just have to get my staff. I'll try a small bit of warming magick to gain the trust further of these people.' Karen reached down, far inside herself. She though of a flame in front of her head, any other thought was pushed out of her mind.

Karen's focus wavered after 10 seconds. She should have had a warmth eminating in the air by now.

'What is wrong? Why can't I make some magick?' Karen thought to herself, and then realized it, 'Oh... they must have a Mage Stone. Nothing much I can do, then. I must keep the aura of calm.' Karen gracefully walked over to the other people, introducing herself.

With permission, I would like to participate... If either of the two people who cannot follow basic instructions should fail to repair their characters, I would like to join.

Name: Danta Joon
Gender: Male
Occupation: Craftsman (more specifically, a sculptor)
Preferred weapon: hammer, chisel or file
Special skills: strong willpower (resistant to torture, manipulation)
Bio: Danta Joon has been alternatively called 'the next great artist' and 'a no-talent fraud' by the upper caste. Unfortunately, the controversy and demand for his work has not resulted in money due to a flooded market. The youth of the city, anyone that wants to get ahead or rise above their station, is forced to sell something unique since the society has everything magically provided. Artists, writers, poets, singers and philosophers all desperately try to sell their ideas and dreams in hopes of getting ahead. Fortunately, Danta's unique visions and artistic renderings cannot be created by magic, only duplicated.

The lack of social and financial success is partly Danta's own fault as well. Possessing a work ethic and clarity of vision uncommon among great artists, Danta, though still young, has already produced more works than most artists do in their entire careers.

Inteligent and idealistic, Danta has made use of his modest celebrity to slowly effect change. Often donating significant works to churches and charities for no fee, he has done his best to inspire hope and faith for the underpriveledged masses, much to the chagrin of many upper-class wealthy art patrons. Danta has a clear view of right and wrong, and is as stubborn and unrelenting as the wind currents that the city floats on once he has decided what is right.

I will appoligize for the size of my usual posts now... it will soon become apparent why I participate in only a few RPG's at a time. And I must appoligize to WK, and point out that you chose to make your character female and attractive... so suffer the consequences.)

Awakened from a deep sleep by a gently shake, Danta slowly shook himself out of sleep. Opening his eyes to unfamiliar surroundings, a feminine voice draws his attention.

"For you..." she says, pushing a bundle toward him.

Still half asleep, Danta rolls himself over and is not entirely convinced he has awakened. The owner of that voice stands above him, wearing a simple white dress and a smile that invites speculation. Suddenly more awake than he wants to be, Danta quickly snatches the bundle and covers himself, cheeks reddening with embarassment.

A mumbled thank you is all he can manage before she moves on to the next person, giving him a moment of privacy to check the bundle. Thankful to find some clothing, he hurriedly covers himself as questions begin to form in his newly awakened mind.

How did I end up here? Who is this woman, and who are these men with me? Why have we been brought here? Where is here, for that matter? Where are my things?

Realizing that he would get nowhere if he went in to many directions at one time, Danta closed his eyes and focused his thoughts, a technique he used when sculpting to clear his mind of distractions. Like a sculpture, the first step is to accept what is, then determine what to do.

Opening his eyes, Danta took a moment to study his surroundings. Extravagantly furnished and decorated in a common but expensive style, this was obviously one of the larger homes on the City of Clouds. Possibly a mansion, but without seeing the rest of the house it is difficult to tell. Closing his mind to speculation, accepting only what is without making guesses about what may be, Dante scanned the room for more clues.

The table and chairs within the room were not original works, probably created by the magic that ran the city, further proof that they were still within the City of Clouds. The mural on the ceiling depicted a battle between two mages, and though he was unable to examine it closely, it appeared to be origional work of a talented artist... not something one would find in a normal home. The artists mark was to far away to see clearly, but it was evident that it was commisioned work done some time ago. A ancient mage battle, then, possibly depicting something signifigant about the owner of this home. Studying the two mages in the painting, Danta compared the likenesses with the woman that gave him the clothing.

The two women in the painting were not nearly as attractive as the woman that had woken him up. He blushed at the memory, but Danta forced down his embarassment and focused again on his questions. Something nagged at his mind about her... some inconsistency he could not quite grasp. Redirecting his thoughts, Danta focused just on her.

Finally, it came to him. She is wearing the same type of simple garments she handed us, and appears worried, though she hides it well. It is almost as though she is missing something... something important to her has been lost. She is not our unknown host. She appears to be in the same situation I find myself in.

And I must appoligize to WK, and point out that you chose to make your character female and attractive... so suffer the consequences.)Ah yes. It's just that when I imagine a female sorcerer/mage, I just imagine a fair and beautiful face, with graceful arms/hands and movement to accent their skills, all the while being elegant in everything. I have no clue why. With a male mage, I imagine a more harsh movement and a less handsome face. Hmm... As I said before, I have no clue why.

(OOC: perhaps I should let some others wake up before I get too carried away. again, sorry for the long posts.)....Sterling........

If you say that one more time, I won't be liable for my actions :). You say making long posts is a bad thing, but in reality, that is far from it. With excellent writing skills, like yours, a long post can really be enjoyable. Length is something most RP's lack, so don't think that yours being long with good writing skill is a bad thing. In fact, never think that or I will be liable to hurt you.

This goes for anyone else with exceptional writing skills.

Name: Carmella Mainstadden
Gender: Female
Occupation: The last thing she remembers is learing how to knit.
Preferred weapon: She doesn't like weapons but will use one if nesccessary, usually a knife, as it is the oly thing she can wield with any kind of lethality
Special skills: She is very scared, and there for very quiet, she is next to unoticable, drawing little attention to herself.
Bio: Carmella grew up with her mother and grandmother in a small house on the edge of cloud city. She is only 12 years old, she was supported by my mother who would sell the clothing she made, and was learning the craft. Her grandfather also lived with them for a time, they got the dog with his life insurance mony and named it after him. Carmella has trouble remembering things that happend durring certain periods of her life, usually on days of importance to her, or the poeple of her family. Her mother used to read her "The Wizzard of OZ". Her father would sexually abuse her, untill she killed him at the age of seven.

I woke up, and found myself in a very bright place. My eyes were sore, as I forced to to open, this is not what I expected,

Where is every body, where is grandma whose lap I fell asleep in? The fire in the fire place? Gagboo the dog? Mommy? Where is Mommy?

I began to cry, Where am I? It was then that I felt the breeze, the windo was open, and I was unclothed.

What has happened too me? Who has taken me, did they hurt mommy? Did they hurt grandma? Did they hurt Gagboo because he tried to protect me?

Tears welled up in my eyes once again, as I made my way to the window to close it. I peered outside, I was high up in the air, higher than I'd ever been, it was dizzying looking down at the bustling city all around. I closed the window and locked it, then retreated to the middle of the large circular room.

My thoughts consumed me, but I had to fight them, I looked around, there was a dresser, a bed, the window, and a door. The room was awefully bright compared to the dilapidated building I had been rasied in, yet there didn't seem to be any candles to light it, and there was no way that all this light came from one window. It must be magic, but another draft from under the door reminded me that even magic couldn't keep air from moving, or could it? So I decided to search the dresser for something to wear.

However, I handed out the clothes to everyone as I woke them up, being the conniving character I am in this.

Wow, it's late and I'm starting to ramble nonsensical things. Time to turn in for the night.

The door opens. A beautiful woman, wears half-transparent dress and jeweled bikinis under the dress (the same who is in the prologue) comes in, and says with soft voice:
"Men and women, come with me."
She takes you to a larger room, where is six magical woodchairs.

Okay, I just want to post this for all RPers: When writing your post for the story, only take in account what was told to your character/overheard by your character, or what was seen by your character.

For example, everyone knows that my character was manipulating people and that she was almost powerless without a staff. However, most of the characters would not know that because I never said it in the story. Only someone with the ability to detect and resist such things (Ie. Sterling's character with his power) can post with that knowledge, but should include at least a thought about it.

Here is a better example:

Right now, I am almost defenseless. If a warrior wanted to kill someone and take control of the party, type thing, then they could attack me and win without much of a fight. However, I am a powerful mage with my staff, and if I said that I was just as powerful without a staff, a warrior might be a bit more cautious and bide his time to attack. See what I'm getting at?

This is just for any newbs out there who didn't know it.)

Drago awoke, he was on his back. This couldn't possibly be the bar I fell asleep at... he thought. He could hear movemeant nearby. It was bright. He forced himself to open his eyes. A picture dipicting two mages battling was painted on the cieling. I must be imagining this he thought. It was cold, he felt around for his hipflask. Where is it? he said to himself. He was naked, that would explain the coldness. A face of a women poped into view. "Here put these on" she said as she dropped the clothes to his chest. "Thank's" he murmured.

When he was finished putting the clothes on he looked around, he was in a large circular room more people were in the room some lieing naked on the ground like he was before and some sitting and standing around the room looking at their surroundings. Could they have been looking for him after he dropped out of the trianing? Could this be some sort of prison? The women gave the other who were waking up clothes. He could see the nervousness on her face. Were all these people murderous killers and theives, they couldn't the city hasn't had any reported crimes in years...*A women wearing semi transparent cloths walked in she told them all to sit in chairs that were set down by a table. Everyone was awake now, they all sat down. He could here a humming noise. It's a teleporter! he thought. All he saw next was a flash of light.

The door opens, and a woman much older than myself enters the room. She makes her way to the far side of the room, and starts to address some one, I thought I had been alone in the room, but quickly realsied that the massive bed had been blocking my view of them, since I was sitting on the floor. I approached the group but didn't get too close, they were all grown ups, some men and some women, however thay all seemed a little warey of this new person. She then looked around the room, looking each of us, even me, in the eyes before saying,
"Men and women, come with me." and she motions for us to follow her.
We follow her down numerous halls carved of dark wood, and into another large, brightly lit room.
In the centre of the room are 6 chairs that seem to radiate potent magic.
"Sit down, please." she says to the 6 of us, we each take a seat, and then the room begins to spin...

Karen turned her head when the sound of doors opening punctuated the quiet talk that floated through the air. The beautiful... yes, the woman just as beautiful as Karen, she couldn't lie to herself, motioned for the group to follow her. The melody of her voice commands obediance and the six follow her closely. The only one who seemed wary was... Danna? Datta? Karen concentrated to remember the man's name. Oh yes, Danta. Danta seemed somewhat worried, but he still followed with everyone else.

The woman led the group through many hallways. On the walls of each hallway depicted a certain battle that had been fought at some previous time in history. Mage battles were a common theme, which bright and dazzling colour that seemed to jump out. A few of the scenes illustrated some warrior battles, and a few even featured battles between warriors and mages. One wall caught her eye and Karen was almost forced to stop. A man in the centre stood frozen in the middle of creating a spell, while seemingly hundreds of demons drew in on him in a semi-circle. Wait.... a man! Karen recognized the man from her staff. She felt drawn to the image, and although she kept walking, Karen's blue eyes locked onto the picture until the leading woman turned a corner.

The woman led the group for what seemed like minutes in some instances, and hours in others. Time seemed irrelevant. The halls finally ended with an open doorway. The group was led through the doorway, and into a small, domed room. The floor felt like glass. The mysterious man of Karen's staff stood painted on the ground, this time a light wave blast was eminating from him, pushing away some of the demons. Karen briefly looked up at the ceiling and saw more demons yet, all crawling down, vying at their chance to get to the man. The man... Karen's eyes were glued to the floor and only took her eyes off of it briefly to get into her chair. She continued to stare at it while the room began to glow, getting brighter. She was forced to close her eyes, and when the brightness faded, she opened them to a tiled floor pattern, with no pictures. She looked up.

The woman whos melodious voice had captured them left. The spell broke... wait, when was she under a spell? Karen immediately regained her guarded pose and looked around, studying her group. She had managed to get the name of most of them. She spotted the sixth group of the member, a child. Karen vaguely remembered giving clothes to the child, but nothing much after that. Her mind was blank of a name for the child.

Another beautiful woman arrived into the room, although less beautiful than herself, Karen noted with a smirk. She seemed to be a high priestess, judging by the clothing.

"Welcome. I am Alice, the high priestess at this temple. We have been waiting for you for a while..."

Even if he did get out he'd never been to the surface before, what dangers may lurk outside the building?. I wonder if any of the others know anything he thought... He like his cloak better, it was black and it was slightly magical helping him blend in with the shadows. Danta's mind spun with vertigo after the teleporation. Even suspecting the magical nature of his situation did not prepare him for the unexpected teleportation to this temple. Gathering his scattered thoughts, Danta breathed deeply, attempting to calm his thoughts and control his growing trepidation at the situation he found himself in.

Closing his eyes and focusing his thoughts, he noticed a certain... heaviness... to the air. An unecpected thrill surged through him as he realized what this was. For the first time in his life, he was away from the City of Clouds. He had read of such things, how warm and thick the air became on the surface, but never had he expected to experience such wonders.

Focus on what is, he thought. Opening his eyes slowly, Danta glanced quickly at the rest of the group. As a whole, they seemed more comfortable than he with their new surroundings. The woman, Karen, was non-pulsed by the unexpected change of scenery, which meant she was most likely familiar with magic to some degree. Possibly a mage herself, Danta thought, though she has not used any magic so far, and still appears distressed. Could something be hindering her powers? That would explain why she looked upset.

"Welcome. We've waited for you for a while," Came a voice, interrupting his thoughts. Tearing his eyes away from Karen, Danta found the speaker.

Sacred was the first word that came to mind. Though she was beautiful in her appearance, her dress and manner exuded more than mere physical beauty. This was a figure of authority, someone of status above the norm. Not actually as beautiful as Karen, there was an air of mysticism and power around her... like she knew things he could only dream of, things his conscious mind could scarcely fathom and would not understand with a thousand explanations. Like she had knowledge of things that mere words could not describe.

Knowing that his own understanding was still limited, and anything magical in nature was likely beyond his understanding anyway, Danta forced himself to calm his breathing and wait for some explanation... as this woman was likely the reason he was not home in bed or working on his latest project.

Xuther was taken aback. Take my clothes off and bathe with this people? Are we but barbarians with no decency? But what if I don't...they could betray me easily, or even kill me. We are captives, I might as well do as they wish.

Xuther reluctantly removed his clothing, covering himself with his hands in an attempt to keep some of his dignity. The others followed suit, some fairly reluctantly like him, and others jumping at the chance. They all slowly hovered towards the water in a group, all looking at it with apprehension, unsure of their actions.

"Well, they have us captive, we might as well do their bidding" murmered Xuther before dipping his feet into the water. It was the perfect temperature, nice and warm, and it almost brought pleasure to be touching it. Pleasure! From water? I must be enchanted, these foul beings!

He slowly sank into the water, and walked around in it. Shyly he dipped his mouth into the water and took a gulp. His body burst with joy, as if this water was the only thing he needed to live, he was immediately refreshed, and another wave of pleasure overcame him.

Karen shed her clothes without a shred of apprehension. She was slightly bothered by the bareness of her body, but made sure she hid it. It was no good to let anyone think her weak. A slight breeze raised some goosebumps, but Karen warmed up quite quickly.

The mage looked at her ...accomplices moving towards the water. She noted with some delight that the foul-mouthed priest was making some attempt at decency.

'So maybe he does have some morals,' Karen thought. She moved her gaze to the little girl. She seemed extremely frightened, and had not removen her clothes yet. A ping of pity popped up in Karen. She walked over to the girl, enjoying the soft touch of the grass across her feet. Karen's hand reached over and she rested it on the shoulder of the small girl.

"I don't think I have gotten your name, young woman. Who might you be?"

"I... I'm... Carmella Mainstadden. I just... want to go back to my home..." Tears welled up in the little girl's eyes, although she tried to make herself look brave.

"It's okay, everything should be alright. We must have all been picked for a reason, there must be some talent within each of us," Karen explained, then shot a look at the priest, "although it might not be so obvious in some of us." Carmella giggled nervously, and some of the tension in her seemed to dissapear.

"Here, you just follow me into the water. If you wait to undress until the very edge, you should be able to slip in without anyone seeing you." The girl seemed to relax somewhat as she followed Karen.

At the edge of the water, Karen did not hesistate as she dived in. The water around her soothed her feelings and any previous hesitation dissapeared from though. Karen glanced at the little girl and she seemed to be enjoying herself, no longer afraid.

Karen lowered her mouth to the water, sipping it. It felt ice-cold in her mouth, which was the exact opposite of what her body felt. The water in her mouth was swallowed and a spurt of ecstacy filled her body. Karen proceeded to gulp down the water. It refreshed her from head to toe, any weariness she felt dissapated. It was incredible to her.

Questions flooded Danta's mind as he followed Alice through the halls. Having read about trees and vines and roots in his studies, he never truely believed he would ever actually see such wonders. The artists drawings and magical recreations he had seen did not do them justice, and he knew he could create no sculpture or work of art that would truely capture the feeling of life within the temple. Everywhere he looked there was life, growth and warmth such as he had never felt before living in the cold, sterile City of Clouds. To find himself suddenly surrounded by living plants left him awed and humbled.

Nothing could have prepared him for the sight at the end of the walk. Even though he had seen the vines and the roots, and he had read about trees in books, the sheer majesty of the tree and fountain that was their goal left him speachless. Even though it was the first tree he had seen, Danta knew that this tree was special even among a forest like it. Without knowing how he knew, Danta was sure that this tree had seen the birth of the world and had stood silent witness to all the countless ages past.

Danta let out a breath he did not realize he had been holding, and sat on the grass as Alice instructed, though he was distracted by the tree and had trouble focusing on her words.

"But now, throw those clothes off and bathe in the fountain! Drink its water!" Alice finished.

No way. I am not bathing naked with a 12 year old girl. Danta turned his back, allowing the girl to go first. Hoping to pass some time until the women were finished, he walked to the other side of the great tree and stared in envy, knowing he would never be able to duplicate such life with his art.

Karen frolicked around in the water for several minutes when she noticed Danta staring at the majestic tree. Karen's eyes froze on the tree for a few seconds, her neck straining upward. She had seen trees before, but nothing such as tall and beautiful as this tree. The base of the tree seemed to be as large a human laying down. Karen directed her gaze to Danta again, and she climbed out of the water.

Karen's feet were tickled slightly by the swaying grass, and the slight breeze began to dry off the water that still resided on her skin. She walked towards Danta and put a hand on his shoulder. They stood there in silence for several minutes, just staring at the majestic beauty of this tree. Karen was the first to break the silence.

"What might you be doing over here, all alone? The others have all taken a dip into the pool already. Will you join me?"

Color spread out on Danta's cheeks as he turned and found Karen still nude after her bath. Certain that his blush reached clear to his toes, Danta turned back to the tree.

"I thought that you could, uh... well, you see there is... it isn't... I can't... that is, um, the other girl you see... Carmella, I think... she shouldn't be... she shouldn't see..." A dozen thoughts ran through Danta's head at the same time, and trying to speak them all made every one gibberish.

Karen promptly did the one thing that Danta wasn't ready for. She laughed. It was a good, clear laugh, not derisive, and Danta soon found himself relaxing... and then laughing himself.

"Don't be silly, did you forget how we all woke up?" Karen said between giggles, "We have already seen everything!"

Faced with her mirth and undeniable logic, Danta shed his clothing and entered the pool with a minimum of embarassment. Once in the pool, the feel of the water calmed him and the taste of the water brought him peace. Drinking the clear waters changed him, as it had the others, and suddenly his nakedness felt somehow right. It was as though he was not simply nude in a pool of water, but rather he was natural, a part of the surroundings instead of a visitor to them.

(OOC: Thanks for taking controll, My brother was being a prick, and it was snowing, yay, sorta, and work, sorta compounded. Anywho, I'm at school so, I got about an hour.)

The room began to swim green, as the new lady Alice, started to chant, and the air grew thic, I coughed as my un developed lungs took in the new air. The older man, Xuther I think his name was, is being mean to the other adults, I do not like him. THere is a lady standing close, she seems nice I grasp her gown in my hand and close my eyes as the ritual is completed and we find ourselves in an overgrown temple.
"Welcome, we've been expecting you," Said the new lady, Alice, she then took offence to something the scary man, Xuther had done and scolded him, she then instructed us to follow her.
We walk solemly down dark passages into the heart of the temple, vines and roots dangling from the ceiling and walls. At last we emerge from the shadowy passage nad into a well lit room, in the center is a spring of sorts, and a large tree. The light filling the room eminates from the pool of water, witch reflects off the gold roof. I stare admirinly at the ceiling and drown out most of the conversation around me. Then a hand on my shoulder. I jumped with a start, and then realised it was the lady who I'd grabbed when we were being teleported.
"I don't think I have gotten your name, young woman. Who might you be?" The woman asked.
"I... I'm... Carmella Mainstadden. I just... want to go back to my home..."I said still starting at the gold ceiling.
"It's okay, everything should be alright. We must have all been picked for a reason, there must be some talent within each of us," The woman explained, her tone deepened to a low wisper "although it might not be so obvious in some of us." she was obviously directing it at someone she disliked, I could tell by the tone of her voice, but didn't see her avert her gave towards the scary man. I gave a short giggle to show I had caught her meaning.
"Here, you just follow me into the water. If you wait to undress until the very edge, you should be able to slip in without anyone seeing you." The woman continued oblivious to my confusion,
undress I wondered, whatever for I wanted ot find out so I followed her.
She bagan to walk towards the fountain and I saw what the others where doing and I realised that it was because we were instructed to, because we needed ot be clean. But for some reason some of the adults were reluctant, this made no sense to me, grawnups were always telleing me to have a bath, even though I hated it they said that I'd grow up to enjoy it, but could it be that you never learn to like it? This was all very confusing to me, why were they acting all wierd, so much different from any of the grownups I had known previously. When I had grown up in our small, shack of a house, we had a hot water limit, so we'd line up for the bath, my parents and grandparents all went one after the other, sometimes I'd help mom bathe grandma or grandpa because they couldn't do it themselves. All these thoughts were running through my head, and by the time I snapped back to reality I found myself in the cool water of the spring.

She chose you to watch over this world he thought, as he made his way to the fountain, what if we don't want to watch over this wreched world. He looked at the others, they were all standing by the fountain. "Am I supposed to bathe in front of all of them?" he said to himself.Karen had jumped into the fountain without hesitation, he stared for awhile and then forced himself to look away. Xuther tried to conceal himself as he steped into the fountain, Danta and the little girl, Carmella were still reluctent to go in. Drago waited till everyone was looking in another direction, ripped of his clothes and stumbled into the fountain. The water was warm, the perfect temperature. The water was not deep so he was on his knees. He cupped his hands and drunk the water, it was cool and a happiness spead through his body. He was happy now, but still anoyed.

I sat playing gleefully in the shallow water. But that was just so no one would ask me any questions, I had too much on my mind, the other grown ups had stirred my memory of my past, my family, mommy, grandma, grandpa, and the dog, but something was missing. But so were alot of things in my memory, there were holes here and there, birthdays, times when people were singing and danceing, just not where they were supposed to be, I knew my birthday was only a few weeks ago, but why can't I remember it, why can I not remember any thing of the last few months, where did it all go? The last thing I remember is sitting in grandma's lap, but nothing before that, why, where is it. So many mixed up things, too many to count, where had the time gone?

(OOC: This is how I'm going to do my characters past, and as I reveal things about it I'm going to be updating the bio section of my char profile, so those who can't take a hint can catch on to what happened to her, and what she did before she was taken. I continued my excitged splashing but had retreated to a far corner of the fountain where I could be alone with my thoughts. We got our dog the winter grandpa died, he left money to look after grandma, but she used it to buy our dog, I called him Gagboo, after the name I used to call grandpa when I was very little. How did granpa die again, he choked, on his pills they said. didn't they see the faint red mark on his neck there the string had been? Of course not, his wrinkles covered it completly, then how did I know? I must have seen it when he was in his coffin, the mortitian had done a miraculous job on his body, took off 20 years at least. The others were calling my name, the bath was over, but I knew there would be another one, we dressed in new robes, and the lady Alice told us it was time to sleep, and to follow her.

Augh! The lack of paragraphs and the spelling errors! The horror. The HORROR!

Naw, I'm just kidding around with you, although it WOULD be nice if you including paragraphs in some of your larger posts (If you start out with a quotation of another person speaking, a new paragraph is always needed) or put it through word and spell check to get rid of some of the errors.

Just asking, don't hurt me  *cringes in the corner :samurai: :_owned: . Ouchie. Naw, I'm just kidding. It's a bit late and I get weird with posting when it gets late (as you can see above. Usage of smilies especially goes up with lateness, and the sense of posts goes down with lateness, and spamming goes up with lateness. Ah, to have explained myself finally.)

Swimming along Xuther's foot hit something hard. He froze in the sudden pain from the stubbed toe, "gah" he breathed as he hopped along in the pool. Once the pain had subsided a bit he looked around to see what he had hit. It was a large root, going down into the bottom of the pool.

"Where does a root that size come from--oh" said Xuther as he finally realized there was a large tree in front of him in the middle of the pool. It stood on an elegant stage in the middle of the pool, it's being a symbol of purity.

He was in awe at the power such a thing had over him, it's mere presence made him want to be nice to everyone, to be at peace, and to forget all his fears, all his hate, and all his anger. "Such a beautiful thing" he whispered, afraid to disturb it.

Alice starts to speak:
"After you feel fresh, take these clothes of the holy. (points to a pile of white-purple colored clothes)"

"If you are wondering about this Goddess, I have a book telling her story."

The book:

The Beginning:

In the beginning, there was many gods, living peacefully and watching over the world, which was a paradise then.
For some reason, the paradise spawned some demons, and when there was a critical number of demons, the demons challenged the power of the gods.
Of course, they started a war.

The War

The gods fought the demons for a long time, during that, this world was on its own.
After the last demon died, the dead gods' (only demonic energies and other gods can kill gods) blood spawned magic to this world.

The war was very even. In the end, only some gods and goddesses still stood, and they absorbed most of the divine energies of their dead comrades.

One goddess, the Goddess of Heroes, was still under demonic influence, and killed off the rest of the gods, not including herself. She absorbed the last of the divine energies, and controlled every power in the divine domain.

The demonic influence, though made her time limited, even when she is in her right mind, she is dying. That made her command her followers to find fitting mortals to ascend to the new gods.

The Amulets

The Goddess forged her energies to the amulets, every amulet commands a pantheon of different energies.

The stronger energies are not so easily controllable, and they drain the divine mana faster.

Amulets' powers are not fully known, as we only know their general powers.

The Amulet of Zis
Is the amulet of order, cruelty and the living energies. Gains divine mana from violence, and can use it to destroy mortal beings and buildings or to restore/revive them.

The Amulet of Asip
Is the amulet of creation, engineering and research. Gains divine mana from inventions and large buildings, and can use them to make humanoid beings more creative and intelligent, and can make plants spawn and grow fast.

The Amulet of Gnis
Is the amulet of the dead, strenght and control. Gains divine mana from sacrifices, and can use it to gain full control of humanoid beings (even dead ones) and make them stronger.

The Amulet of Eno
Is the amulet of vengeance, slavery and assassins. Gains divine mana from vengeances and mysterious deaths. Can use divine mana to create shadows and shadowy monstorities.

The Amulet of Fe
The amulet of animals, frenzy and the sea. Gains divine mana from fighting and seafaring. Can use it to make humanoid beings more skilled in their specialties.

The Amulet of Ive
The amulet of fertility, farming and beauty. Gains divine mana from making birth, and can use it to make farmland more efficient and humanoid beings more beautiful and sometimes more sexually active.

Danta relaxed in the pool, enjoying the feelings of warmth and belonging. His thoughts seemed to flow back towards his latest sculpture, the one he had been working on before waking up in the strange mansion. Odd... he had never gotten angry at his abductors. Xuthor had been upset, but for some reason, even now, Danta just did not feel angry. It was as if anger at his abduction and embarassment were simply not important, not a part of him. His logical mind knew he should be angry, should be attempting to escape... though he did not know where he was... but for some reason anger was not there, and escape was not important.

"After you feel fresh, take these clothes of the holy," Alice nods toward a pile of white-purple clothes (OOC: Are they a mix of white and purple, like light purple, are they some kind of white with purple patterns, or a mixture of solid white pieces and solid purple pieces? Does that even matter?). "If you are wondering about this Goddess, I have a book telling her story."

Interesting.... thought Danta as he quickly scanned the book. Amulets holding the powers of gods, primal powers of nature, seemed to be a bit much to take in. The fact that he was expected to recieve one of these amulets struck the logical part of his mind as absurd... but that was the same part of him that was telling him to be angry. He pushed away that feeling, reminding himself again to deal with what is, to deal with the moment and accept what he sees and feels. As absurd as this all seems, it was happening.

Focusing again on the amulets and their descriptions, the Amulet of Asip seemed to jump off the page at him. The amulet of creativity... the amulet of creation itself... seemed to stick to his thoughts. He read thru all the descriptions and the story, and while he could remember some of the story, the only amulet he could describe was that of creation... and he could recite the description of Asip from memmory, as if the description had somehow attached itself to his thoughs.

If it was to be his or not, Danta was sure that, in some way, the Amulet of Asip figured prominently in his destiny.

He didnt go near the bracelets. He da seen far too many boobytraped or cursed items similar to the ones Danta was examining then.
Then, walking over to the pile of clothes he picked the topmost set up and slid it over himself swiftly.
Noticing that none of the attendants were nearby, He walked past Danta slowly.

"dont be so unsuspecting of them. Remember that they are our abductors. We know nothing about them." he whispered to him.

(OOC: *Ahem* ... Here it is... The moment you have been waiting for. Black.Ice goes all "priestess" on you)

Ashley sat, with her eyes closed, underneath the shade of a large tree. She sat cross-legged, her back resting on the enormous trunk. She listened to the soft breeze rustle the leaves; she listened to the small animals around her move about. She was at peace.

Ashley took slow, deep breaths, concentrating on her innerself, attempting to commune with nature. She concentrated on the sounds around her; the rustling of the leaves, the animals scurrying about.

She thought about her tasks for the day. The more she thought about it, the more anxious she felt. Today was the day. The six had been chosen. The amulets had selected their bearers.

As she sat meditating, she felt a disturbance. Slight at first, but steadily causing her to loose her peace. Ashley let out a deep sigh, and opened her eyes.

She squinted at first, letting her eyes adjust to the newfound light. She then heard footsteps coming towards her. Ashley stood up, her thin dark-brown hair falling past her shoulders.

She brushed the specs of dirt off her long, black robe, and pulled the hood over her head, covering all of her body, less her face and hands.

The footsteps were closer. Ashley turned her head, and her deep blue eyes glistened in the direction of the footsteps. She made eye-contact.

"It is time," Melissa, a fellow priestess said to her in a soft tone.

Ashley said nothing, but closed her eyes and nodded. Melissa continued to walk past Ashley, along the trail.

Ashley stood for a moment longer, and stretched, enjoying the cool breeze. She walked to the trail, and headed towards the temple, her face low.

Thoughts about the day kept running through her mind. It was still hard for her to believe that the six had been chosen.

She didn't know what would happen, but she knew that whatever the future held was for the best.

(OOC: Seal, let me know if I...ehh.. Overstepped the boundaries on anything...

"Dont be so unsuspecting of them. Remember that they are our abductors. We know nothing about them," Jason whispered.

"We know plenty," Danta countered, "We know that they have power; the power to pull fighters, a priest and possibly a mage out of their normal lives and deposit them naked in a room, without so much as a struggle. We know they have the power to teleport between the City of Clouds and the surface world, which is where I suspect we are. They claim to be associated with a goddess. More than that, they claim to be followers of the last true goddess, guardians of the powers of the gods.

"If I believe them or not, if I trust them or not, that they have power is beyond dispute," he explained, "Concentrate on what is, accept what you see before you. If they were to wish to trap you, the trap would have been in the clothing you just rushed to put on."

Turning back to the book and his study of the amulets, Danta took a deep breath and cleared his mind. Focus on what is. This Jason is not one to trust easily... suspicious mind but calm and controlled actions. Probably one to have seen a fight or two... and he looks to be the type familiar with the use of brute foce.

Ashley reached the temple, still walking slowly thinking about the upcoming routines. No matter how much she tried to calm herself, she found herself unable to do so.

(OOC: Just taking some liberty to describe the temple. Let me know if this is wrong, and completely off)

The temple was split into three main sections; one of them for ceremonial uses, the second for general use, while the last section was reserved as a living area. She walked to her small allotment, given to her as her living space.

The old, rusted, heavy door creaked open as she stepped into her room. She swiftly took off her long black robe, and hung it on a small metal hook in the corner. She felt exposed, wearing nothing but the ceremonial white outfit.

Ashley turned in her room to face stone wall. She reached with her hand, and rested her fingers on the wall. The stones melted, and changed as they became reflective. Ashley looked at herself in the mirror; she adjusted her clothing, and fixed her hair.

She removed her hand from the wall, and watched the stones transform to their previous structure and shape.

Ashley opened the door to her room, and walked down the long corridors, to the nearest exit. As she exited, she put her hands behind her back, and slowly walked towards the fountain. When it was in view, she looked around, and examined her surroundings.

She saw the six individuals. She looked at them from afar, examining and scrutinizing them. They had finished their cleansing. She stood in the distance, waiting for her time to come.

That was pretty fine work. Some corrections:

Priestesses wear just plain white outfit, purple is reserved to the high priestesses and guests.
The Temple is magical, so the stones may react to touch.
In addition, the priestesses' living space is a section of ground inside the third part of the Temple. There is no roof, so the priestesses sleep on grass, very naturally. The priestesses have just their white dress (some priestesses possess a robe in addition, for special rituals), so there isn't so much need for clothe storage space.

Although he could imagine this feeling of dampness in the air and on his skin could be unpleasant, it was a welcome change from the cool, crisp air from the City of Clouds... where the lower humidity caused water to evaporate almost immediately after a bath.

The soft grass underfoot felt good as he followed Alice down the halls, adjusting the purple tunic he wore. The heat was starting to get less and less pleasant as they walked, so he wiped off most of the remaining water, hoping to get a little cooler.

As they emerged from underneath the limbs of the tree, Danta took his frist good look at the night sky from the surface. Realizing that he was probably on the surface did not lessen the shock of seeing the City of Clouds from below for the first time. It amazed him how peaceful it looked from the ground, how serene it appeared floating in the air with the three moons. It was hard to believe he was this far from what he had always known as home, and he had no idea how he could get back.

"There you sleep. If you need anything, our priestesses are glad to help you. Of course, I'll also be sleeping with you, feel free to awake me if necessary," Alice interrupted Danta's thoughts, and he was thankful once he looked away from the city.

Though he thought sleep would be a long time in coming, the grass was more comfortable than he imagined, and he drifted off while staring at the sky.

Any word on new characters?
Ah, it was a bit late when I wrote my last message here, so I forgot to tell about them :)

I'm not going to have large spoilings, but the Part 2 new characters will be more freely built. But, I don't tell anything more until the Part 2 is out.

end ooc)

I slept lightly under the tree untill the other five had fallen asleep, the priestess didn't look like she was going to sleep untill we were all at rest. About a half hour after the last of us had fallen asleep I awoke, and began to climb the tree, once hidden behind it's emerald leaves I bent old branches and tethered them together with strips I had cut off the gown with a sharp rock I found in the fountain. once it was a fairly stable platform, I lay down on my back and counted the stars untill my eyelids, heavy with sleep, closed.

My thoughts came rushing like a torrential river, cacading over the blank field of my mind. I thought of my mother who took the care of the house so seriously,
"If we have to sell the house, how will we with all this mess?" She used to say. I missed her and tears filled my eyes.
But we did sell the house, that was one of my most recent memories, it was what she had decided to do the day before my last memory, when I was learing how to knit with grandma, it was because then I could make myself a blanket when I get cold, because we might be out of a house for a very long time. Grandma made if fun somehow, she always did, laughter came so easily when I was around her, I missed her as well, but this time they were tears of happiness at the memory of her smile that filled my eyes.

When I next opened them it was early in the morning, the others had not awoken however the priestess had remained awake throughout the entire night. I climbed down from the tree, and walked over to the priestess, I gave her a hug and fell asleep on her lap, she reminded me of mom, her expression so soft. I smiled as I drifted back to dreamland.

The sun set. Ashley still stood by the six, watching them. She quickly turned around, and walked towards the temple. She entered it, walking through the narrow corridors. She ascended a long flight of stairs, and approached a deserted stone balcony. This was her favorite spot to stargaze.

She lay down on the stone floor, staring into the open sky. It was a peaceful night. The darkness was beginning to engulf the temple as the sun set, but there was still sufficient light to see clearly.

Ashley stared into the sky. Further into the night, she saw the first moon appear. It had already risen, and was approaching it's zenith. She saw the faint outline of the the moon. She turned her head slightly, and then looked at the City of Clouds.

The city, was lit up with man-made lights, making it shine like a beacon in the open sky. Ashley found herself imagining and pondering what life would be like up on the city, as opposed to the surface. She imagined it being much different, and much more ... confined.

From her viewpoint, Ashley had a clear view to the horizion. The sky was dark. She waited a few more minutes in silence, staring at the sky. Slowly, a blanket of stars emerged. Faintly at first, but over time they became more apparent, shining in the darkness. As the night progressed, Ashley saw the second moon. It too, had already risen, and was past it's zenith. It shone brightly. Ashley sighed, her eyes transfixed to the moons.

Two full moons. She remembered the time she had spent on the oceans, and the long voyages by ship, and how violent the waters became when both moons rose. She had been watching the moons on the previous nights, and tonight, both of them were full.

Ashley began to feel the effects of sleep. As she sat up, she looked at the horizion. The third moon was beginning to rise. Ashley gasped, and took the name of her goddesss in her native tongue as she stared at the moon.

Seeing one moon was normal, seeing two was rare, seeing three at a time was considered godly. Festivals were based around the sighting of the moons. Ashley lay back down, but craned her neck to see the three moons, almost to confirm if she wasn't seeing things. Her mind raced. Seeing three full moons was said to be a sign of the gods.

Ashley watched as the moon rose, steadily into the sky. The three full moons, together, provided enough light to see clearly.

Everything suddenly began to make sense to her. The six had been chosen. They had been chosen on this particular day. She could only assume that greatness or horror would come from the six's actions.

As she lay in the balcony, she heard voices. Ashley rolled to her side, and looked over the balcony. Alice, the high priestess, followed by the six chosen one's entered the room. Alice spoke to the six, but Ashley could not hear.

She continued to watch them, occasionaly turning to look at the moons.

Ashley couldn't sleep. How could she sleep? Seeing the signs of the god's, and then being within proximity of the amulet bearers was enough to make her feelings of sleep disappear.

She rolled onto her stomach, and started at the six. They had all fallen asleep, some of them occasionaly moving in their sleep. Ashley looked at Alice, who had also noticed the moons.

In the darkness, Alice made eye contact with Ashley. There was nothing to say. The same thoughts were running through their minds. Alice nodded, as if to confirm Ashley's thoughts, and then turned away.

Ashley looked at the six, as they slept peacefully, almost innocently. They didn't know what the future would behold, but they didn't seem to mind.

Ashley continued to look at the six, and saw a women open her eyes in the darkness. She made eye-contact with Ashley, almost an apprehensive and angry glare in her eyes.

Ashley sighed, and rolled over onto her back. She continued to stare at the moons, until the second moon began to set. What would tomorrow behold? She did not know, but she only knew that she could hope for the best.

[OOC: Just some character development in this post, as well as the sightings. Let me know if the moon-cycles that I described aren't in-step with your thought, Seal. I'll modify anything, if jacked up anything :)

Again, I feel as if I'm not writing up to par. I guess it's the lack of character involvement, or not having a background for this temporary character. Hopefully, when you start Part 2, if everything goes well, I'll be able to do some better writing. ]
