When did you start?

So when did you all start playing diablo? What patch was it?

me: owned it the day it came out.

me: played some single player in 1.03 or 1.04 or 1.05, then stopped :(, and then played some in 1.09 until 1.10 came out ;) I was annoyed that all the weirdso items weren't deleted :P

i have no idea what patch it was when i first bought the game but im going on 2 1/2 years

I don't remeber what patch, but I found out about it about a month or so after it came out, cause my friend was a major diablo fan, and he had it. I would play at his house and I decided to buy it, then I played the single player, beat it easy, and I played online for about a year. Then I switched to war3.

I would guess around 1.07 ish then. But its hard to gauge. very hard to gauge.

I started play during 1.0.4. After the first or second SOJ dupefest. Ahh, I can still remember those days. Just a Nagel and a Manald, and the next unique ring you will find would be SOJ, always.

I started playin like 2 years ago, but I stopped like alot of times. I've recently finally completed the game, and if I have some extra money, I'll by part 2.
I love the story!

I started with 1.09

I started, I think, roughly sometime BEFORE the expansion, maybe a long time before it, but I never got into it, mainly becuase of my poor computer.

That and I thought being level 30 and necro with an Infernal Wand was good ;)

Later after I had exausted my starcraft (not for the lst time... hehe) I decided to get D2 EXP, and was hooked ever since. I think I started playing for real right around .08 or right before .09.

I had some .08 items actually, so it must've been before...

Im not sure what patch it was when I started, although i do know that I started when 9 pskulls went for an soj. and then as soon as I got 9 no one wanted them! argh! Oh well, I never really played Legit, I never hacked besides map but I did other things. yeah I admit it. Also it is where I first met T-Dawg. Now that I know him in person Im glad I decided not to snatch his stuff when I first met him.

Didn't there used to be some "White" item that a player could drop and if another player picked it up it would somehow make said player drop all their items? I remember hearing this rumour from a few seperate people, but I'm still not entirely convinced it was possible.

No, there are some items that make you drop out of the game, but to actually lose your items wouldrequire a 3rd party program/trojan/hack/etc...

the white items were just items that were imported from open bnet
like a white ring added 20%ll
like 10-20 dmg
and 95 absorb all

I only just bought Diablo 2 a few weeks ago (13/04/04) v1.10. I made the mistake of playing online and got rushed through the entire game in a few days. So now I am playing through single player to follow the story.

Should I install the original Diablo aswell?

For laughs, sure.
Not really a super playable game these days.. I've replayed it for the sheer idea of reminding myself of what I've played.. little retro, etc.

Definitely not the game to play online though -- too much cheating in Diablo. Wow.. Nothing could overstate the amount of cheating they have. *heh*

Of course I was more talking about D2, but god diablo.. that is retro. no running.. it makes me cry when I go back and play it.

Yeah, the lack of running is quite painful at times.

I believe I've been playing the original Diablo since.. at least shortly after it came out. But that was back on an old IBM Aptiva, eek.
