Does anyone know any GOOD MMORPG's that can be downloaded for free, and require no monthly fee etc. If so post them here and give a bit of a description. Thx. Chris. :D

Tibia (www.tibia.com) is an MMORPG, the graphics aren't great but it's addictive and you don't need to pay (however you can if you want). I've played it once every year for the past three years -- I've finally stopped (swapped my Tibia addiction with CS).

Sorry if im being ignorant, but whats a MMORPG?

An MMORPG is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. Basically an RPG but with a shitload of people all playing on one server over the internet.

It's hard to find an MMORPG that deviates from the traditional goal as to kill things and gain levels all day long. However, I find that FoM (http://www.fomportal.com/) may be a good game. It's like a combination of Halo, counterstrike, WoW, and GTA. Their latest huge patch brought a whole bunch of bugs in it though, and the economy is pathetic the last time I checked. With machine guns not having been invented yet, it's hard to fight with a pistol that has no ammo T_T. But it might have changed by now. In case you play that game, join the Brotherhood of shadows >;]. One day we shall liberate all the other pathetic factions' colonies and put an end to the Confederacy!

Umm... You can DOWNLOAD Guild wars for free, and it doesn't have any monthly fee. But you just have to pay a one time fee of 50 dollars to get a key to play the game.

If you are interested (I doubt it because you don't seem like you want to pay at all, but whatever), here is the site- http://www.guildwars.com/downloads/clientdownload.html
You can buy the key online from them as well.

Knight Online is supposedly good at first, but apparently has horrid tech support and a plethora of unresolved bugs. You can get it free from download.com or google search for the Knight Online homepage if you want to try it. A few of my friends were hooked on the game for a while, and spoke well of it for a while.

If you're REALLY desperate.......There's always Runescape. But that sucks.

If you have a high-end PC and 3 gig laying around, Google Project Entropia.

Only ten pounds though....Besides Runescape sucks the big time. Id rather pay 10 pounds for a really amazing game than nothing for a really sucky game.

I don't go by pounds.....What would that be in American dollars? Not like I could get it anyway. Lousy M rating.

Unless I could persuade my Dad to let his college friend rip us a copy.....Hmmmmmmmm...

I actually play Guild Wars anyway, but was a little annoyed the levels only went up to twenty. As for Diablo 2, i have played on it online in the past and enjoyed it quite a bit. Then i realised the graphics were terrible even with the expansion. I've now moved on to the far superior Warcraft 3 expansion also by Blizzard.

P.S. Does anyone know wheter Secondlife is free or not because whenever i try to sign up it always asks for a credit card number, phone number etc. I realise you can pay for extra money or something like that, but can you play the game without all the add ons, or do you have to enter your credit card first.

Thx. Chris.

Runescape is boring because it's fun at first so than you play it a lot and than it gets boring and you start noticing things like the
CRAPPY GRAPHICS
and the
POOR BATTLE MECHANICS
and the
HUGE AOUNTS OF 8 YEAR OLD KIDDIES THAT HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT SOCIAL INTERACTION AND LIKE TO SWEAR
and the
FACT IT'S POINTLESS PLAYING BECAUSE YOU'LL NEVER BEAT ZEZIMA ANYWAY.

However, if you'd play that game once in a while (2-8 hours a week), it can actually be quite fun.

*goes back to WoW*

An MMORPG that lets you create pretty much anything you want in game using scripting tools and graphic designing. You can build your own house if your willing to pay the fees.

I don't really think Diablo II - Lord Of Destruction has crappy graphics. And I don't see why the graphics of Warcraft III would be better in any way.

Warcraft 3 came later, and can run in up 2 1028*768. D2 only reaches 800*600. W3 also supports occlusions higher detail levels shadows etc. None of which are supported on D2. Both good games tho.

It's true that WC3 has better graphics engine and thus a better possible level of graphic quality comparing to Diablo II - but which one has better graphics is something else. WC3 is just too cartoony in some aspects, and some people would prefer the more serious/mystic theme of Diablo II (count me in :p, D2 is awsome).

Btw, you're wrong, WC3 can run in way better resolutions than 1028*768; 1028*768 is only good for FPS games, where every half a millisecond counts and you gotta get rid of any possible system lag. In games like WC3, you better go for 1600*1200 instead (or, if your have a really slow comp, 1280*960).
