This will be interesting i can assure you. What this thread is is a test to see whether you (the great and glorious members) can follow guidelines set in a specific way. Basically it will test your ability to follow rules and the interesting part will be to see how long it takes before someone manages to screw it up.

Thats ALL you can write in this thread. Under each heading (which you will also need to write out) there should be one colour, one smiley and one Warboards member. The reasons for your choices should not be put down, nor should any opinion about the thread (good or bad) be made in your posts. No spam should be posted and you should only make one post (You only need to prove yourself once.) For example:

That is all you are allowed to write. Simple, sharp and to the point. No "OMG I luv AJ!!! <3" No "Black because it's cool" and no "OMG this thread is..."

Being the one to break the chain of this does not make you a cool, hard rebel. It makes you somewhat incappable of following dreadfully simple rules. If you somehow manage to get stuck, look at the example in blue. The most you will need is one word/smiley per answer.

Just to make some things clear...

-You do not respond to other posts e.g. OMG Ender likes me!
-You only make one post for the thread
- "<3" does not count as a smiley. Only smileys from the list count.
-If you feel you cannot answer any question, you are to put nothing like "I don't like any smileys coz they all suck." a simple none is all you should put.
-This post does not count to the test

Now, if we get serious for a sec, as a random note I don't think Geno should've failed. I've never seen a post of him without the "~Larry "Geno" Meyers" line. It's like a part of his signature, and, nobody else failed because of their sig right?
Another note is that failing Darmago is morally wrong. True, he did fail the test, but he chose you as the member he likes!

I knew some wise ass would make a post like that, and when I saw Xenon do it, I was like, "yeah....wiseass"

But if you read the rest of the instructions it says "Under each heading (which you will also need to write out) there should be one colour, one smiley and one Warboards member." Then it goes on to make an example, and say that you are allowed to write the example. It also says "If you feel you cannot answer any question, a simple none is all you should put."

So it's really only a matter of conflicting instructions. The best answer would be to ascertain what GT was really asking for, which everyone did, except for Xenon :P

I took this to mean that we should follow the written word as stated, not "interpret" it as some other direction. You created a thread where the purpose was intended to see whom could and could not follow direction. Xenon made a conscious decision to follow the initial direction. All other direction would contradict the first and most important directive "All you are ONLY allowed to write in your post is the following information."

If you wanted people to include answers, you should have posed the question differently.

In the real world you read the book, consider it and then disregard it because it's out-of-touch with reality. However, I'm quite sure this test had very little real-world applications in mind when it was written. :)

Hmmm... I don't exactly see a 'list' now do I? If you're referring to the list on the sidewhere it says "Smilies," then yes, I failed. But if you mean the list of smilies that people use on the internet? I have indeed, passed, as many people on the internet have used that smiley.

Needless, I knew I'd fail the test, as my classic ending of a post will always and forever be "~Larry "Geno" Meyers" regardless of what you might think. But as for TheXenon, he has passed. I also see that you have failed. Need I remind everyone of this rule:

There's also one, and you just had to be it! I'm thinking you read the instructions up until that very point and decided to ignore the rest. Let me take one piece that SHOULD clear it up for most people.

About the headers. When I was first making this thread i did intend to do that, but thought that there were enough constricting rules. As long as they clearly indicated what heading was what (even in a word) i'd let it slide. Some of them didn't actually give headers at all, and that's why they got marked out. Even if it didn't actually say that the headers had to be in full, the implication for the presence of headers was there.

Let me explain something here. Had you (Grim Terror) not been so intent upon posting a pass/fail test, I wouldn't have even posted in this thread. What really ticks me off is when someone purports to be above the fray by "testing" other members. Now this in itself is not necessarily negative, but I do expect the test to be properly worded at a minimum. You are attempting to pass and fail people (your fellow members) based on a faulty set of rules that were contradictory at best.

As for the employment analogies, I hire and fire people based on their ability to follow directions. Once you demonstrate the ability to follow directions, then we can talk about your creativity.
